I'm curious.  

you can get a barracks right next to the hook. also, it gives you a huge eco advantage if your opponent lets you build up.

if your opponent is half-decent, they will scout your expansion (or just notice that the base has lit up) and rush you. if you can repel the rush with minimal losses, you basically win.

EDIT: a covi player cannot stop you from early expanding unless they go temple first. always early expand against an arbiter unless of course they go temple first.

on hook maps, supposedly yes. however, the top arbiters ive played on pirth have not gone temple first. here is one i saved because my opponent was on the top arbiter leaderboard at the time. this guy (elit fresh), flint gi joe, and pubda bear all did not go temple first.

Going Barracks first is never a good idea. If the Anders even gets the crates along the road and sees you (and a good Anders will scout the pathways at 38 + 68 + 98 seconds ect. ect.) he's going to stop you getting any of the Reactors and go Hogs since your economy is too messed up to get Gremlins. Versus Covie, both of you will end up with a Reactor except you will also lose a Marine & lacking economy, where if you had gone Warthogs you could have kept them at their bases long enough to grab them both later.

 

Double basing as Anders versus Anders is definately the best option. Even if your opponent attacks your 2nd bases as soon as he gets Gunner, you have enough time to get a Reactor on your first base 4th and a Supply Pad and Barracks on your second base. You just lock your base w/ Gremlins inside and when you feel you have enough you unlock both of them (the first base first, since they have to travel to fight) and fight him off. If he goes Marines along with his Hogs to take your base out quicker - it doesn't work, just some people do it - you go Flamers and you're in an even better position.

 

Then take the Reactor closest to you and get Focussing & an airpaid.

They are not actually very good players. Arbiter's that go Temple first on Pirth have the best chance of beating an Anders, because they can put their Ghost at one path & their Arbiter can intercept the other. But even if the Arbiter went Temple third because he was trying something new, the Anders player is still harming herself by getting both those Reactor there and then. Firstly, because her economy is too weak to need Tech 2 and second because the Arbiter can take it back pretty easily before you can get a Reactor for Tech 3 (and that's the only way Barrack first could ever pay for itself).

aight, but try this, dual base and barracks 2nd or 3rd on your second base, 2nd if things seem to be going bad, ie rush. 3rd if its fine, reactor 5th on main, i actually have it down so i can dual base and build a warthog at the start, you gotta be spot on on crates though.

Reactor 5th on main? That is just begging to get rushed.

im very very suprised that people are saying that i am a "decent" player, because in all honestly i suck really bad at anders mirrors, u totally outplayed me for most of that match.

i do want to play you again so that its not an anders mirror :P, maybe i will try and play a leader i suck at :L, or u could change and try a new leader lol.

i don't go barracks first on my main on pirth. i do it on my 2nd base. were you addressing studmuffin about his strat?
