    Modern Marvels Halo tech

I think it would be the sweetest thing that the team who set up the episode called star wars tech on the history channel, doing real research of the tech in which they compared it to present day tech to star wars tech, makign it very entertaining, adding in clips of the movies.

so i want the The history channel to do a special on Halo Universe tech, comparing our technology to that of halo in the games and books. and adding in clips fro the games of all the games of halo probably be alot easier to do it after the halo movie

If you havent seen it its very interesting episode.. heres a link ot the history channel

It would be cool, but they would have to get the halo stuff right... They need to be carefull when explaining things about halo.

Plasma and Laser weapons are all entirely possible--as are energy shields and such.  The only issue is that they are literally hundreds--if not thousands of years ahead of technologically.  However, it is possible to have almost 95% of the stuff in Halo.

How is the General rank fair again?

The banshee for instance, the propulsion system doesnt exactly make any logical sense at all.  Neither does the phantom, teleportation, energy swords (You can harness energy in a shape like that without a solid mass around it--therefore not making it retractable like the energy sword is), gravity hammers.

Energy sword, there is a field that keeps it in place I believe.  Teleportation: Slipspace

    Re: Modern Marvels Halo tech

ive always thought halo has been pretty good for science. some stuff is a little far fetched but i completely dismiss forerunner stuff since we can say their understanding of the universe and laws and such were much more advanced. same with some covenant stuff. but they did a good job with slipspace and space stuff is very good. i was very happy they added the need for spinning sections in UNSC ships.

so in conclusion i would love somebody to write a book or make a documentary (would have to be good) about the physics of halo (reference to physics of star trek with i really need to read).

    Re: Modern Marvels Halo tech

All UNSC tech is currently available with the exception of the Shaw-Fujikawa TLE. We also don't know how the UNSC ships propel themselves in RealSpace. Other than that, we've got everything else:

    MAC gun: http://www.technologyreview.com/Infotech/20164/?nlid=857&a=f

This SOB can send a 7 pound slug at 7 times the speed of sound.

All UNSC weapons are completely feasable. The Cyclops and MJOLNIR armor are all possible (and we already have something like a Cyclops).

The Spartan Laser is truly possible, but an advance in power storage systems is necessary.

    Re: Modern Marvels Halo tech

Pretty sure the UNSC uses a nuclear reactor to provide its ships with energy.

A normal MAC travels at .4c or 40% the Speed of Light

    The speed of sound is 343 m/s, that x 7 is 2401 m/s, 40% the speed of light is 119916983.2 m/s

The, uhh, math behind your calculations are a little flawed.

"Die?"Kurt laughed."Didn't you know?"he told the Elite. "...Spartans never die."
