    Vultures in space?

Do you guys think that they can be used in space? They would be faster in space and they still have good armament.

    Halopedia says:

Halopedia: "It is possible that the Vulture is a spacecraft, seeing as it descends from space when it is summoned to the battlefield in Halo Wars. It may also be faster in space, but this remains unknown. It is possible that the pilots limit their speed while in atmosphere because of the stress it could cause to the Vultures hull or that they are much more likely to hit and destroy something, especially since it's going through the atmosphere, so it would go really fast. However, it could simply be because that everything travels faster in space, including Pelicans. "

I believe that they can also be spacecraft, but I don't know what role they would play. Their autocannons are too innaccurate to damage fast moving targets, so I suppose you could field dozens of them and just hammer away at the Covenant shields until they collapse. An Orbital Missile strike could be useful, I suppose.

    Re: Vultures in space?

They might be used to invade the Covenant cruiser's hangars and blast everything inside.

Or, like what you said, Waffen, hammering at the shields of the cruiser.

Well I guess they aren't really that usefull in space but they can still be operated. Well, if there was a boarding party maybe they would be an escort?

OOoooh. Have you ever played Star Wars Battlefront II? Reminds me of the ships you use to board the enemy vessel. A Vulture would fit the bill perfectly. Imagine Covenant forces inside a hangar bay.....meeting the Vulture's Autocannons.

    Lol Grunts.

Halopedia is unrealiable. Its open to the public, and a lot of kids and adolecents love vandalising public sites. You could say that "the forerunners are sentient peices of fine gentlemen sh*t" and no one would realise until atleast a few weeks afterwards.

    Re: Vultures in space?

lets keep in mind that during halo wars the war with the covenant was just starting. the war with the rebels was the one that had vehicles designed to fight it. so maybe it was used against rebels and stuff. but they were certainly not designed to fight covenant.

Halopedia isn't totaly unreliable. Even if it's open to public, there are ''moderators'' people save the pages and as soon as there is an update they can go look, they keep it as accurate as possible. It isn't that you think it is.

    Not the point.

Give one reason that Vultures cant fly in space.

    Re: Vultures in space?

im sure a civilization as advanced as the UNSC would account for these things but its a lot harder to get something into space than some of you are making it out to be. just to get out of earths atmosphere you have to be going over 20,000 miles per hour. or use a tether (which they had). and once you get a ship in space it has to be very strong and stuff. im sure the vulture could go in space but lets not forget how harsh space is.
