sp4rt4n:Yes sort of. There is a theory that there is a second CLASS(master chief was part of the first class) of spartans. Bungie said that in Reach all would be made clear. I am just wondering how the storyline would have went if the spartans did not fight at Reach but went to halo with MC. Something very different indeed.

Yeah, but that second class was never made.  That was said in Ghosts of Onyx by Colonel Ackerson. 

no it didnt. i just reread that part. it did say that the spartan II project was halted and Halseys budget was slashed. but it didnt say when and not too long before that was said i think she still had a huge budget because ackerson showed that vice admiral what Halsey budget was and they said they could build a fleet for that much. so all we know is that when the spartan III project started, the spartan II project was over.
