no one will be sure until halo reach is out project spartan will be explained soon on the uprising of the new game (coming soon) nothing can tell us all about Project Spartans is known as a special force thats all i know *extra* i think spartans is only for battles and defending i mean think about master chief and rip apart an entire army of covenant by his self about 100 covies and he can take them all on over and over and over again just like that robot for installion 04 and the others they are like the spartan almost but they are robots they are the same but robots and weapons and knowledge if the unsc builds these to fight they will win i mean aint the forerunner on our side (UNSC) like if they was on the enemy side we be dead because the covenant they got hi tech like forerunner but diff tech so we be doomed if you allied against us

Care to repeat that and maybe this time make sense :S

you dont have a letter limit so you can explain what your talking about so its easier to understand, if your calling spartans things that are used to attack and defend is kinda dumb and they arnt robots either,

they are biologically augmented super soldiers no technology has been put inside them otherwise they would be cyborgs the only tech they have are the Mjoiner Armour to further increase there effectiveness in battle.

The sentinels on installation 04 attacked the UNSC coz cortana had the idex and planned to destroy the ring, while the monitor was tasked to defend the ring so it was self defense on the monitors part until installation 04 (II) then the monitor was confirmed rampant.

Anything i missed that needs to be explained let me and the others no so we can help ya out

    Re: Spartans.

ok the spartans have been around long time right? so i think they was made not made made but like they was low rank then the highest of them all to be a spartan and they are attack and defend units and as for the spark of installion 04 and others the reason the spark attack cortez or whatever is because it was defending so it had to do what it had to do right? but if the covenant fines out how to build the spark again they could include whatever they want

Spartans arn't made they are trained. they have been around a few years before contact harvest (2525) they gain ranks after each mission and earn the highest rank available cheif went straight to master cheif petty officer which is equivilent to gunner sargent or somthing im not to sure on ranks (corret me guys if im worng) to them and earned every medal in the UNSC

They not attack defence units they are super soldiers used in most missions wether it is doing an all out assault or defending critical positions and if your gonna contradict me for what i just said then that makes all units attack and defend units :/

Anyway the monitor 343 gulity spark AKA lightbulb used protocal to fight the covies not the humans until cortana took the index now spark was'nt destroyed unil the end of the human covenant war so there would've been no reason to attempt to make a replica
Besides the covenant cant make a moniotr that can control halos systems setinels or even an AI smart enough to think on its own and learn they can only make Dumb AIs while cortana is a smart AI thats why cortanna could delete there AI. but still both sides dont have the knowledge or technology to make something so advance

The conanant don't make A.I.'s because they believe only the forerunners should make them, though they do have the tech. Also it was mentioned earlier that Spark was rampant, which is not true, he was a "perfect A.I." and by perfect i mean he was fully functional like Cortana, but does not have the 7 years operational limit like other A.I.'s he also would not be imprinted off a brain like the smart A.I.'s .he went "crazy" because he only has 2 purposes the primary is to protect his ring, and the secondary is assist other forerunners/reclaimer when installation 04 was rebuilt he had a purpose to follow again and could not let that purpose be destroyed again

    Re: Spartans.

Still the one thing i do not get is why do does the UNSC only create two spartan II classes. After five years of fighting and seeing the spartans actual potential then i would have made at least three more classes and trained them at the same time at different places. To me it seems the spartans helped win MANY ground engagments if not all.

The Covenant does have AI. Cortana encountered one, an unnamed AI on the ship Ascendant Justice. She was also able to destroy it. Plus, almost every single Covenant weapon and vehicle is derived from Forerunner tech. While it's preached that it's heresy to alter them, the Prophets did it at times. So what would stop them from making an AI?

343 Guilty Spark was over 100,000 years old, giving him ample time to over-process information and "out think" himself. Spark was rampant. There was no such thing as a "Perfect" AI, and even Forerunner AI went rampant. Just look at Mendicant Bias.

Money, plain and simple. Halsey ran into problems getting funds for the second class, so a third was highly unlikely.

    Re: Spartans.

Dr. Halsey gathered the funds for the second class. This is told in Halo: Ghosts of Onyx. As Dr. Halsey is the head of the Spartan II project, I would only assume that she would be aware of a potential (yet as of current non-existent) third class.

I don't remember exactly where; it's been forever since I've read the book, and I don't own a copy. I can search for it, but if someone could help me find it, that would be great.

EDIT: Apparently Chapter 2, page 45.
