The chapters will be kind of short, but there will be a lot of them.
----------Prologue----------
Year 2882, 330 years after the Halo 3 event
For the past 330 years, the universe has been in peace. The covenant were completely gone except for the elites. Many search parties were sent to find Master Cheif's ship, but none succeeded. After many years the Arbiter died, too. Now it is a new generation of humans and elites. The war and what it taught us about peace has mostly been forgotten. The bond between humans and elites is wearing out. Military technology for UNSC has barely advanced due to the hundreds of years of peace. The elites started making new technology based off of the convenant. They learned from the old convenant's mistakes and made a new nation. Soon, they started threatening the humans with their advanced weapons to agree with their terms. The humans kept on agreeing to everything the elites demanded, hoping it would bring peace.
It brought war.
The elites soon started to think of the humans as their slaves. They started taking their land and controlling some of their planets. Soon they proclaimed themselves the new generation of the covenant, a more advanced and stronger version. In desperation, the UNSC made the Spartan ||| Military Program, which created 100 new spartans. In these 100 spartans, were 10 special spartans. These spartans acted as the leaders of the other spartans. They were stronger, smarter, and more agile than the regular spartan. This angered the convenant, and soon they started making their attacks larger and more destructive. The spartans were able to hold the convenant off for enough time for the UNSC to develop new weapons and vehicles. The UNSC started attacking the convenant with their new weapons and vehicles, and they were able to win back most of the planet of Arcadia, a very important planet. Soon, they started sending troops to other planets. They started awaking individuals from the past who were in cyro sleep machines to help them in the war. Now, the UNSC is in the biggest against the convenant they ever faced.
Then everything went wrong.
----------Chapter 1----------
Convenant space center, 2882
The Arbiter paced around the room, nervously. Out of his window in the space station he could see most of Arcadia. "It is such an ugly planet" he thought.
Only a week ago he had become the new Arbiter. The seven Arbiters before him had died in battle against the humans, some of them were only Arbiter for a few weeks. He was determined to do something the other Arbiters didn't do. Something they couldn't do. Win the war.
The UNSC had become considerably stronger in a short period of time. They conquered back most of Arcadia, and were still advancing. If they conquered all of Arcadia it would give them a much bigger chance of winning the war. It could be the turning point of the war. Suddenly, an unusually small elite entered the room and said, "Arbiter, the machine is almost ready."
"Perfect," the Arbiter said while he laughed out loud.
"Um... Arbiter?" the small elite asked.
"What?!"
"Well... er... what exactly are you going to do with the machine?"
Before the elite could move, the Arbiter grabbed him by the throat and lifted him into the air. "Who gave you the authority to start asking about my plans!?"
He threw the elite to the floor and said, "just build what I tell you, and don't ask questions!"
"Yes ,sir," the elite said, out of breath, while he quickly left the room.
The Arbiter looked back at Harvest. "Soon you will be destroyed," he thought.
Suddenly, an alarm went off and a video popped up on the Arbiter's screen. There was an elite in one of their bases in Arcadia screaming about something, but there were too many explosions in the background to hear. "Block out the background noise," the Arbiter snarled to the AI.
Soon he could hear what the elite was saying. "We need backup," the elite screamed, "the spartans are here!"
An audio message popped up on the Arbiter's screen. "Sir," the Arbiter heard the voice of the small elite, "the weapon is complete and online."
"Get me control of the weapon!" the Arbiter quickly yelled to the AI.
"Weapon control, complete," the AI said.
"Fire at Arcadia!"

Chapter 2----------
Arcadia, Pirth City, December 23, 2882
Sam was scared.
It was the first time in his life he was ever scared. He was taught not to ever be scared. Sam was one of the 10 leader spartans of the Spartan ||| Military Program. His real name is Samuel 289. He and three other leader spartans, Linda 302, Dave 299, and Ben 386, were leading reinforcement spartans in Pirth City. Pirth City was one of the two last covenant controlled areas in Arcadia. The other was a small settlement in Mu. If they could get control of those two areas, it would help them a lot in battle.
The battle was going well for the UNSC. They destroyed all of the anti air cannons, except for one. Sam and five other spartans were sneaking behind the covenant army. The army expected the UNSC to make one final strike and attack from the front. The spartans were able to sneak around the covenant watch towers without being seen. If they saw them they would send their army around the entire perimeter of the cannon and probably kill them. Now they were up to the last and hardest part. Sam could feel his palms sweating. They had to sneak behind the covenant army. If even one elite turned around, they would be caught and killed.
"Sam!" Linda whispered. "Hurry up, we need to get to the cannon."
Sam nodded and started to walk a little faster.
They were almost there, just a few more feet. Then an elite yelled, "spartans! They are trying to attack the cannon!"
"Positions!" Dave yelled. "Hold them off until the army gets here!"
He looked back at Sam and said, "Sam, let's go! We need you. You're one of our best fighters!"
Sam didn't move.
"Sam, you okay?" Ben asked.
"We need to make a run for the cannon," Sam said.
"Come on Sam, we couldn't make it to the cannon," Dave said.
"We have more of a chance making a run for it than trying to hold them off," Sam said back.
Dave said nothing for a few seconds. Finally he yelled, "to the cannon! We'll hold them off there!"
Sam ran faster than he ever had before. He was determined to shut down the cannon. After about half a minute they got to the cannon with the covenant army running after them. The covenant were surprised by the spartans, and it would take them a minute or two to attack with their full army.
Obviously, the covenant were less surprised then Sam thought because Dave yelled, "thirty seconds until the army arrives!"
Sam knew he had to destroy the cannon now. He looked around for the generator, the one weak spot, but he couldn't find it.
"Twenty seconds!" Dave yelled.
Sam looked around faster now, desperate to find the generator. Suddenly, he found it. It was on top of the cannon. If he could just...
"Ten seconds!" Dave yelled, sounding more scared now.
Sam had to act now. He started to climb one of the legs of the cannon.
"Five seconds," Dave yelled, his voice trembling.
"I need to do this now. I can't mess up." Sam thought.
He threw the grenade.
"They're here!" Dave yelled, "attack!"
Sam's aim was perfect. He hit the generator right in the middle. The grenade exploded making the entire cannon go up in flames.
He was able to destroy the cannons, but the covenant army was still after them. The flames on the cannon were spreading and getting bigger. Soon, they were going to hit Sam. He started climbing down, but the flames were spreading too fast. He jumped.
When he landed, he heard an explosion. It took him a few seconds to get up, he thought he was going to get shot. Once he finally got up, he looked around wondering where the army was. It was gone. The cannon's legs broke because of the flames, and the entire thing fell on the army. A quarter of the army was destroyed and they had to go around the cannon to get to the spartans, leaving them a few minutes to spare. Then Sam heard another explosion, but it wasn't the cannon. It happened again. He looked around and heard screaming. Not the screams of elites. The screams of people. Then he saw it. A giant blast cane from the sky and annihilated everything it touched. Then he got a message in his visor from the captain.
"Get out of there now!" he yelled. "Blasts are hitting Arcadia! It's getting ripped apart!
----------Chapter 3----------
UNSC Arcadia Space Command Center transport pelican
Sam loved the transport pelicans. For one thing they were the longest used vehicle in the UNSC. They were same as they were hundreds of years ago except for the few times they upgraded them to be faster and stronger. He also loved the window in the back and floor where he could see almost the entire planet he was going to or coming from. It was a pleasure for him. This time it wasn't as much of a pleasure. The blasts were still hitting Arcadia nonstop. So far only a few chunks of land had fallen off, but Sam could see the progress the blasts were making. Giant cracks were forming and getting bigger. Soon, Arcadia would be ripped apart.
Suddenly, a voice said, "welcome spartans."
It was Lisa, the AI for all of the transport pelicans.
"We will be arriving at the UNSC Arcadia Space Command Center momentarily. Captain Mult would like to see immediately after you land. It seems he has a mission for you."
"This day keeps getting better and better," Ben said. "First we almost get shot to death, then annihilated by giant beams, see Arcadia getting ready to rip apart, and now they're sending us somewhere else!"
"Calm down, Ben," Dave said. "They're probably just sending us to check some stuff out."
"They better be." Ben replied.
"Oh, shut up," Linda said.
Soon, they landed in the station. They started walking towards the captain's office.
"Check this place out!" Linda said staring at the floor to ceiling windows where they could see a mixture of planets and stars. "It's so beautiful!"
"Know what would be even more beautiful, "Ben said clutching his stomach. "A good restaurant."
"We're here for a reason guys," Dave said, "let's get to Captain Mult's office."
Finally, they made it to the captain's office.
Dave knocked on the door and said, "hello? Anyone there?"
"Come in," and old voice said.
Sam was surprised, he expected a big, burly man as the captain. Instead, sat an old and weary man.
"Welcome," Captain Mult said. "I'm sure you all know why you are here. Giant beams has hit Arcadia. It is getting ripped apart. In a few hours, it will be in pieces. The beams have already killed two leader spartans. The rest are on Arcadia, trying to save as many soldiers as they can. I need you to find the machine that shot the beams and destroy it."
"Okay," Dave said, "where's the machine?"
"That's a problem. We know the machine is somewhere in space, but we cannot locate it. We're guessing that the machine is not attached to its control room. The covenant would never be able to hide something that big from us. They could hide the machine by itself. Because we cannot find the machine, we'll need to attack the control room."
"Please tell me you know where that is!" Ben said.
"We have a few ideas. We found a new planet that seems to be covenant controlled. There's not much on the planet, except for a few bases. What we're looking for is underground."
"I can see where this is going," Ben said.
"There seems to be something big underground one of the bases. We think this is the control room. I want you to go to the planet and find out if the thing underground really is the control room. And if it is, destroy it. We are only sending five spartans with you. We cannot risk you getting found by having too many people with you. A transport pelican is waiting for you in launch pad C. Good luck.
After they left the room, Linda said, "you'd think they'd give us a break every once in a while."
"Well they didn't," Dave said, "so we might as well do the mission, and get it over with."
"Why have you been acting like such a jerk, lately?" Ben asked.
Dave didn't answer, and started walking towards the pelican.
Soon, they got to the transport pelican and met the other spartans. Sam glanced at Arcadia through the window. There were huge cracks going around the planet. Many pieces already fell off and were floating away.
"Terrible isn't it?"
Sam turned around. It was Dave.
"My family lives," Dave paused for a moment, "lived on Arcadia. I didn't see them a lot because of training, but I was allowed to see them every week or two. I remember waiting, excitedly, to be able to go to them." He turned to Sam. "You know that in the the spartan military programs before ours, the spartans were not allowed to see their families? I'm happy they changed it." Sam nodded even though he had no idea what it was like to have a family. His parent died before he even went into training.
"I'm really worried about my family. who knows what happened to them. That's why I've acted so strange lately."
'Sorry to interrupt," Lisa said, "but we have arrived.
