Why does my last cargo ship go from full health to exploding randomly? Is there some artillery or something crazy I'm missing? I've beat every other mission solo Legendary, and I just need to beat this one. I've seen a few online guides but it's never as easy as they make it seem. Any tips?

There is a Covy Mega-Turret on the mid-right of the map. It's shooting at your Cargo Ship.

So basically, yes, there IS some artillery...

Coop is the best way trust me. The reason that your cargo has so much damage is because every time you kill a banshee he sacrefice himsef on the cargo. Build hornets and flametrowers thats the best combo. Also put as many marines in the sniper towers, they delay your enemies.

When you start its best that the forge player search for crates and heal him as best if you can his hog does extremely damage against enemies. The other player ( hornet guy ) kills as many enemies as he can find and after that take the bases and defend them immediatly with turrets.

 

Player 1 has to build and defence the bases

Player 2 has defend the cargo and make troop and send them to player 1

trust me this is the best way, i hope you will succeed.

PS: micro management is the key to victory!!

turn the boomstick skull off.  The game says civillians die when they go in the ship, so they sometimes explode.

i haven't been able to beat this mission on legendary either.  even with all the player friendly skulls on except for boomstick. locusts are my main problem. when i start the mission i send my 4 hornets over to cargo 1 and i already see their beam shooting toward the ship in less then a minute. *** legendary cheaters.

I just figured out there was a save feature yesterday... stupid me.

I just beat it, thanks to figuring out the Boomstick skull kills the transports and spamming gauss hogs. Never saw the mega turret fire once, oddly. I have officially detoured the great journey. Thanks guys.

Yes, there is a covenant mega turret that in some playthroughs that fires at a cargo ship, but not always. And, I would try this on Co-op cuz its easier to play when one guy builds the base and units while the other controls all units. Building all hornets usually works, just dont upgrade them at first, just pump out hornets and keep all the hornets near one cargo ship cuz you only need one ship to live. And if you have spare time upgrade to wingmen, this helps a lot. Also, activate all the skulls that help you except "Boomstick", cuz the banshees have suicide and may crash into the cargo ship which in turn decreases the health of the ship by a lot.
