What planet? And also, what if the Covenant were by the UNSC ships? It takes 4 UNSC ships to kill 1 Covenant ship haha. The flood can just capture the ship and use it to their advantage, as seen in H3 when they used the ship to land on Earth.

By massing a few flood forms together the Flood can form a brain of sorts, when it gets big enough it is called a Proto-Gravemind, these are used to commandeer vehicles and ships.
