I've played 149 games, but only have a little under 190,000 points.  What modes are best for getting points, and what should I build?  I prefer to play as Covenant and the Prophet of Regret. I've heard many tips such as a "One-Man Army" with my Prophet, but I'm not very good at executing that.  Any tips for him? 

 

I've also been told to turtle for points, but what units are best?  Should I build a Hall and make Jackals + Hunters, or what?  

 

Finally, are they any good tactics that aren't really "rushes" but can be good mid-game.  One of my favorites is to build 8 Wraiths and 8 Banshees to complement my Prophet, but I either get rushed too early to get anything going, or I get a terrible multiplier because some of my enemy's teammates attack.

 

I do care about winning, but I want that elusive General achievement more.

Points wise its faster to earn points for ranks in 2v2 and 3v3. I got colonel faster in 3ve because of all the units to destroy again and again. If no one resigns and the game is competitive points will just come to you. Concentrate on taking our units and rebel bases

You usually get a lot more points in 3v3. I don't know what you mainly play but you're not getting much points from it.

And if you want to turtle, then you need to scout the enemy's base and counter whatever their building and if you want you can just let them continiously span one unit until you have a lot of points.

Just turtle and build counter units. But don't beat them too bad. Let them think they have a chance so that they keep sending more units at you. That way you can just farm their units as they build more and more, thinking that eventually they will take over. The important thing to remember is: Whoever has more bases, has more production capacity. For this tactic to work, you need to have equal production capacity to the enemy. So make sure they don't have more bases than you. Also, don't go for their buildings. They are only worth 10 points each. Marine squads are worth 4 and they are a lot easier to kill. And when you do finally go for the base, kill the buildings one by one. The center base is worth 10 points, but so are all the buildings. You'll get 80 points for destroying a fully upgraded base piece by piece, only 10 if you destroy it all at once. If you do it piece by piece, you also might be able to destroy some buildings while they are in production. A supply pad that's coming up for example. Buildings in progress are much easier to kill and yield the same amount of points.
