    infantry

    we all know infantry sucks, at least the main line infantry thus being marines and grunts. so lets keep jackals hunter flamers and spartans out of this thread. infantry is a big reason why this game is unbalanced because it kind of destroys the triangle of soft counter. Now yes infantry will soft counter air but air is simply to quick for infantry to be a reasonable choice for you to use because you just forfeited map control. so the problem is infantry is to slow. so it would seem simple enough to give them a speed boost but then again since when do people go faster then vehicles or air vehicles. so speeding infantry up is ridicules so the other option is make them stronger. i dont know the numbers but right now its balanced untill you factor in the fact you wont have ut 5 seconds to attack air unit because they will fly away. so infantry should be op if you fought it against other units and had every one stay still. if you factor in micro then with the right power boost to marines they could become usable units. 

     

    this is just my idea of how to fix them if you got yours please share them.

    I've suggested this into every infantry thread:

    Allow one marine squad, or two flamer squads to garrison onto any UNSC vehicle to ride on.  If the vehicle dies, so the does the infantry squad.  Same goes with Grunts onto Wraiths.  Or even better, make the final upgrade for Ghosts into one of those bloody turret vehicle things in Halo 2/Halo 3 (I dont know WHY the name escapes me...) and allow up to 2 grunt squads to garrison on that, or 3-4 Jackals.

    Halo Fanboys. The next most annoying thing next to Jonas Brothers fanboys.

    A couple of things would make Infantry far more museful. More cover near bases would be great. This way, and early Marine build would be a great way to turtle up for a short time so that better units could be made. Along with that, the Cougar (an APC) should have been included in the game. One of the main problems with Infantry is thier speed, so introducing fast moving APC's to transport them would have been awesome.

    Also, the Y Ability never should have been an ability to begin with. Marines and Grunts should both have an RPG (Fuel Rod) upgrade, which would increase their effectiveness against air by a lot. Rather than the Active RPG ability, it would just be a Passive ability that increases their damage by heaps.

    yea the best answer to the problem is to make infantry do more damage or make them garrinasable that is sorta of true air are to fast for infantry

    that wold help if you put marines on a tank you now have something that soft counters infantry and air.

    yeah, I love brutes.  Like all infantry they die fast, but not as fast, and they have decent damage and are mobile without a horrible speed boost.

    Seriously, I am only satisfied with the brutes as non-hard-counter infantry.  Oh, and ODST, because they are fodder and everyone knows it, but they work.  Past those, the infantry pretty much suck (again exempting the spartans and hard counters).

    don't diss infantry. ODST's ftw, otherwise you have a wide-range of other stratergies, plus the forge infrantry rush still works amazingly in 2v2 games. So i DEFINATLEY wouldn't say its overpowered.

     

    Adding to the fact that there is also a well working Cheiftain Grunt+Brute rush (that i killed guys with on ***..3v3...), Infantry is just fine. ODST's can take out tanks if you use them properly, it's perfectly fine the way it is.
