Will gauss hogs be less annoying after TU3 ? I don't think so !

    I cant wait to come back to America and start playing this game again, ODST will rape against all other units. I thought RPGs were fine, but now they are stronger, HAHAHAHAHAHA, my win-lose record is going to get way better with Cutter.

    1. Gauss will be weaker to tanks & wraiths

     

    2. RPGs/grenades/wolverines will own hogs now.

     

    3. Longer warthog build time.

     

    4. Turret buff.

     

    5. Anders 75% tech time

     

    6. Elephant buff

     

    7. 50% recycle 

     

     

    Gauss spamming isn't going to be a great strat after the patch. I don't understand why people are so worried.

    Gauss will be nothing after TU3. As forge, i can have a tank qued by 2:10 while anders has what... 2 hogs and gunner qued? Early game is how you stop anders people. Get a few tanks over to her base within the 5 min mark and wipe out her early army. In this case, carpet bomb > cryo and tanks > hogs, so theres no problem putting her out early. If you lose to a few grenadier hogs with 2 or 3 scorpions and a carpet bomb, you need to stop playing halo wars. Dont like being forge? Same concept works for any hard counter. If you're covy, get a leader and a couple hunters over there early and make her deplete her eco using D bomb and cryo, together costing over 1000 of EARLY game resources.

    Ill say it again, early game is how you beat anders.

    Exactly my point. People keep thinking hogs are so indestructible because of their build times. One tank is equal to about 4 or 5 hogs, and now itll be even better thanks to their heavy armor nerf and slower build time. So hogs themselves aren't the problem, its the user's strats. They build gremlins? Scout and counter. Air units or cobras locked down in the right positions will take care of that, and use your initial few tanks to move into the enemy's base, forcing anders to either continue with the gremlins and get countered, or try to scramble into a new strat, which most likely won't end up working.

    Gauss was never that big a problem in solo (although they still needed a slight nerf on solo), it's team where they were far too powerful. On solo you can defend your base and at least have some hope, you can't defend 2-3 peoples' bases with scorpions. The gauss user will just run around nailing bases and running from scorps.

    Except that Gremlins are sitting ducks for Carpet Bombs and they are too slow to run away from Scorpion Tanks like Hogs can.  To say nothing of when things like Canister Shell and Cobras become available.

    I've been saying this for months now:

    There are two problems, independent of eachother, that cause gauss to be overpowered:

    1) It oftentimes directly beats its counters (this is being addressed in TU3)

    2) The mobility + building damage allows the gauss user to control the game even if the opponent has a sufficient number of hard counters to win the fight (this is not being addressed in TU3)

    I don't believe gauss is getting nerfed hard enough in this patch because of #2. If I have 10 gauss hogs and you have 3 scorpions (equal cost), I am still going to win. I will just wait until you move your scorpions out of your base and attack you. Turtling in your base is surrendering map control which is a loss.

    Well, the hogs will run away and kill your base, when your tanks come back, they will run away and gain map control, if you find them again, they will go to your base again ... and so on and so forth

    You're right that carpet bomb is good against gremlins, but good Anders aren't going to let you drop a carpet that's going to kill more than 3 gremlins (the threshold where the carpet bomb becomes cost-effective). Also, if we're talking later game when you get canister and cobras, the Anders will have chain amp. Chain amp gremlins, in the hands of someone who knows how to micro, are the single best anti-vehicle units in the entire game.

     Nothing, including canister scorps and cobras can beat CA grems for the simple fact that someone who micros CA gremlins effectively will never get hit by scorps due to greater range. Cobras, if locked down, will win on a 1v1 level but once you get equal-cost groups, the gremlins will take a volley, lose some, and then chain stun the remaining ones and kill all of them.

    are you saying gremlins need a nerf as well? i find it kinda cheap that anders gets the best vehicle counter as her unique unit.

    I'm not necessarily saying they need a nerf, but I am saying that they are extremely powerful. This will compensate for Anders' average (yes, average, if gauss is nerfed hard enough) eco bonus and inferior leader power.

    Gauss will always be a very strong and cheap upgrade for an Anders player to control whatever he wants.
