those are some of my faves,

The tank one is a classic. My favorites are still "all top players spam gunner hogs"  "Anders saves 10248 resources over the course of a game" (or whatever the number was, based on his brilliant method of adding the cost of every single tech in the game and dividing it in half, lol).

Re: Marine spam vs Arbiter: not a bad idea

I always use Cutter so whenever I go up against an arbiter that rushes I always make my usual marines plus a few flamers. Once I get ODSTs I do fine against the arby, then when I attack his main, I use my DB. easy. I am excited for the TU!!!
    I <3 ODSTs

Cookie Krisp:When I suggested the marine counter, i'm pretty sure it was an arbiter+banshee scenario . . . You don't have to literely sit there and pump out 30 marines.

You've got to be trolling. You specifically, seriously said before that you would have 30 marines by time you got wraith rushed. It was one of your traditional Cookie Krisp comments that everyone gets a good laugh over and then wonders for your sanity.

it only takes like 4:05-4:15 to get 30 marines, and maybe even less if there are resource buildings on the map. In 4 min. arbiter will only have 2-3 wraiths if you put the factory in your 4th or 5th slot.

Then you just d-bomb the base, and your marines will destroy the entire base before the d-bomb wears off.

Lol, that's such BS. It takes 4 minutes of constant pumping to make 30 marines ((8 * 30) / 60). That's impossible even if you went barracks first and pumped marines for four minutes straight, which is impossible in itself. That is not even looking at the resource issue, because you cannot get 3000 resources to create marines in 4 minutes.

Re: Marine spam vs Arbiter: not a bad idea

no it's not impossible. I can get 30 marines out around 3:45 on blood gulch.

The 4:05 route is a little better though since you'll have a strong economy.

I'd like to see you have 30 marines before 3:45. Go run a scrim and post the link.

Re: Marine spam vs Arbiter: not a bad idea

3:45 is only possible on blood gulch and chasms. I usually don't do this version (w/marines) since it is too risky and doesn't really work.

SP   (send elephant to resource building, quickly put marine inside and start pumping out marines)

    SP

    SP

Barracks    (pump marines out of this building & elephant until you get 30 around 3:45 if your fast)

    N/A

    N/A

Not a great build order but i'm just showing that it is possible to get under 4:00.

This build is better done with flamethrowers so that you can quickly take every single hook at the same time.

Re: Marine spam vs Arbiter: not a bad idea

That above 4:05 one is impossible without hooks.

First barracks comes up at 2:00. That gives 125 sec for production from one barracks. 125/8 =  15 marines

Second comes up at 2:30. that gives 95 sec for production from one barracks. 95/8 =  11 marines.

Total: 26 marines, assuming you have zero delay on resources and creation of buildings/units. Close, but looking at more like 4:20-4:30 under perfect circumstances, probably 4:45-5:00 worst case.

hmm.......i haven't done this strat in a while but i'm pretty sure I have gotton 4:05 with forge. I forgot how though. I might have built only two HSPs and just picked up some extra crates (or used a hook). You should still get atleast 4:15-4:20 easily. Remember that you can only build 29 marines cause your scout takes up 1 pop already.

getting under 4:00 is definitely possible on some maps with Cutter. In fact, I can get 29 marines, capture all the reactors and resource buildings in only 4:05-4:10. Maybe less if you build flamers instead. Requires a pelican drop at the right time.

I said gunner hogs were OP compared to the rest of the tier 0-1 units.

And grenadier hogs rape turrets. A couple grenadier hogs will drop turrets in seconds with no losses. Everyone just assumes that turrets will keep the hogs away when they don't. Some brave people..........like me, actually took my grenadier hogs and destroyed the turret. No need to get gauss.

Also, some teams coughcuttercough suck at killing gunner hogs. The patch will help fix this, but right now gunner hogs are OP vs Cutter. Your basically forced to go tanks every game.

one last LOL. 30 marines in 3:45..........................I WIN, lol

the funny part is, i bet people will start using that marine strat. Opens up tons of possibilities, especially on tundra.....wink wink.
