    I don't get it.  I just don't get it.  Instead of making a thread for people to complain on, how about you just fix the problem already.  Just the fact that you had to make a thread dedicated to hogs must mean something about their being OP.

    Why not take away the gauss upgrade?

    As someone said in the warthog thread, the warthog is a scout, but it's used as a main battle vehicle that beats everything else.  As a scout, it shouldn't be that powerful.  So why does there have to be a gauss upgrade in the first place?  Just leave it at gunner and granedier, and add another unpgrade that, say, increases it's health (like the ghost's shield upgrade).  That way, it can be used for it's purpose: a scout vehicle

    I see it as simple as that, but I could be missing something.  What do you think?

    no. guass is an iconic part of the halo universe, and should not be missed. i was kind of disappointed that mongoose and prowlers were forgotten though.

    If you say PLZ because its shorter than please, I will say no because its shorter than yes.

    But, dont nerf the hogs, just the guass cannon. The damage to heavy armor needs to be reduced so that counter units actually counter them.

    I agree.  Gunner/Grenadier Hogs are properly vulnerable to vehicles, Gauss isn't.

    They only came into the story in Halo 2.  Besides, there was other stuff they missed, like mongeese and prowlers, or battle rifles.  Remember, just because they're in the Halo games doesn't mean they have to be in Halo Wars.

    I like the idea, when you think about it is still useful early game for D, but is not OP later on. good thinking!

    Well the only problem with what you suggested is that they already are in the game....

    I see nothing wrong with the Worthogs, Scorpions Cobras Wraiths Hunters Vultures and Marines all work as long as you have enough of them.  Even Ghosts can work if you upgrade them all the way, partially because they're cheaper and can be made faster.

    Why couldn't they take it out?  Couldn't they just change the programing? (I'm no computer expert.  Sorry if I seem naive)

    I'm so happy this was finally put up. <_< So sick of seeing 10 warthog threads in a row. Anyway yeah, just nerf the damage on the Guass a bit, but that's been said a million times.
    Things that won't help your case when making suggestions about Halo Wars:
    "Well, in Halo 3..."
    "...something similar to what Halo 3 has..."
    You get the idea.

    I'm just happy that i'm a 1v1 TS 30 so i don't see gauss spam every game :D (more like 1 out of every 10, just when i'm about to raise my true skill :[  )

    here's an idea i had read the mongoose thread with 2 upgrades one of a marine on the back with an A.R and the second "led foot" doubles speed with Y ability for 10 seconds now my idea is the 3rd upgrade! throw a rocketlauncher or spartan laser on that! it would be quick and still throw up a good fight still would be a better stronger than ghosts and choppers but still UNSC are supposed to be stronger!

    Boy if i had a nickel for everytime i heard this idea.

    They don't need to get rid of the Warthog! Just the gauss cannon. Switch GC upgrade with your booster idea? Lots of ideas to be thrown around

    I agree with him frankly. Ghosts get pooped on by everything, and so do Choppers. Warthogs are the opposite. Besides, I don't see why scout vehicles even need weapon upgrades, just health, defense and speed upgrades.

    Look at the upgrades available for the scouts.

     

    Ghost:

    Boosted Ram (Ability to ram)

    Strafe (More effectively dodge grenades and rockets)

    Scout Shield (Applies a small energy shield to the ghost)

      

    Chopper:

    Autocannons (gives ability to shoot)

    Stabilizers (increase autocannon accuracy and damage) 

    Ramming Targe (increases damage done and decreases damage taken when ramming) 

     

    Warthog:

    Gunner (applies a light machine gun)

    Grenadier (a grenadier is seated in the passenger seat)

    Gauss (the machine gun is converted to a gauss cannon)

     

    Warthogs and Choppers are doing it wrong, Ghosts are doing it right. Choppers and Warthogs three upgrades revolve around attacking and causing damage. This is not what a scout unit should be doing, in fact a gun on a warthog only tells the opponent that they've been scouted thanks to the "Under attack" sound clip and the ping on the mini-map. Scout units are supposed to be about speed and efficiency, not combat. That's the last thing they should be doing.

    bad idea for the speed on the warthog but the mongoose would be really cool would make more sense on the population a warthog looks like it would take more pop than just 1 think of it

    Tech 1: Gunner, adds a marine riding shotgun 300

    Tech 2: Led foot, adds the boost ability 600

    Tech 3: Spartan Laser or Rockets 900
