    Vulture crew

I have been wondering this for a while

How many people does it take to operate the vulture?

that thing is huge and I'd guess at between 5-12 people

    how about you folks

Yea that thing is huge, but I think youre guess of 5-12 people is a little off.

My guess is about a million, give or take about a million.

    Re: Vulture crew

    Probably only 4

Pilot, co-pilot, communications and radar, and weapons.

"Tell me, boys and girls . . . How will you leave?"
and the ODST's roared in unison "WE GO FEET FIRST, SIR!"
"Now lets get to those drop pods. The Covenant is holding a picnic down on the surface and every single one of you is invited."

    Re: Vulture crew

I agree but what about engines and such I mean it is a fairly large ship you might need an engineer or two to make sure everything is in good shape

A good guess, very probable, but it means that all the re-loading takes place automaticly, something that could be possible in 500 years.

    Re: Vulture crew

Its main guns are autocannons so that would be fairly safe bet

Yeah I thought about mentioning that but I figured you guys would figure that out on your own, and was I wrong?

    Re: Vulture crew

I would say that you were petty darn close, the vulture seems to be about the same length of a scorpion, limmiting the size of the crew, esp when you think of the space needed to store things like whatever powers the ship, and ammo.

For a 4 person crew: Pilot, co-pilot, communications, and weapons

I would say that the pilot and co-pilot can deal with the engines as there are two of them, the loading would have to be automated, and all crew members sit in cocpit.

For a 5 person crew: Pilot, co-pilot, communications, weapons, and engeneer

All if all were in cocpit, communications and engeneer are in back,  with weapons in middle and both pilots up front.(immagine a die and look at the #5 on it.)

More than a 5 person crew: Pilot, co-pilot, communications, engeneer, and weapons team

same as 5 person crew, lead gunner from weapons team is in cocpit, a small team of 2 or maybe 3 are in the belly of the beast loading shells, in a very tightly confined space, a really crappy job: hot from the engins and heavy labor, loud from being right by the breach, and you would have no Idea what kind of danger you and the ship were in, as you were isolated from the cocpit.

I would say an 8 person crew max, before you start to have to many people.

lol that would have been so much easier.

Direct quote from the halowars site:

    Vulture

    "Death From Above"

The Vulture is one of the UNSC's most powerful units. Basically a highly armed flying assault tank packed to the brim with weapons. The UNSC Vulture is the largest aircraft fielded by the UNSC. It is designed to deliver massive damage to enemy ground troops after air superiority has been achieved. It is slow moving but carries an impressive armament of 2 twin-autocannons and rocket silos that can be used to deliver a devastating barrage to enemies in a wide area.

Crewed by highly trained UNSC pilot and gunners, the Vulture is an expensive unit and is usually reserved for difficult or lengthy battles. Being slow, it is vulnerable to anti-aircraft fire and enemy aircraft, but it is surprisingly resilient.

Armament:Dual Autocannon Turrets, Rocket Barrage Ability

    Crew:6 Crew Members

so there ya have it, case closed.  1 Piolet and 5 gunners. and I guess its bigger than a pellican!

    Re: Vulture crew

I just want to know where its packing all of those missiles...think about it...or don't, I dont care, but this makes me wonder occasionally.  How many times could a Vulture use barrage without having to rearm itself with a new complement of those humongous rockets???

    Re: Vulture crew

Every unit in the game is like this. You can't run out of ammo because ammo hunting doesn't make for good gameplay in an RTS game.

    Re: Vulture crew

6 crew would be something like:

    -Pilot

-Aircraft Commander (tells everybody what to shoot, where to go, communicates with other units)

-2 Gunners for the auto cannons

    - Gunner for the air-to-air missles

    - Gunner for the barrage missles

Or there could be a co-pilot and only 1 gunner controlling both autocannons.

As for the Barrage ammo capacity, maybe 2 or 3 barrages of eight missiles. In real life, missiles would be fired one at a time at high-priority or heavily armored targets.
