    Hmmm...

No, not all flood spores could've possibly been destroyed in the entire galaxy.  Besides, that doesn't matter, 2 & 3.

    Re: Flood, alive or dead?

Please, if you know as a fact, correct me if I'm wrong here.

    The flood can NEVER die.

To my understanding, even the Halo array can't totally kill the flood. What it WILL do is kill everything of sufficient biomass for the flood to take over. The flood is like a virus. It doesn't die of starvation. What does die is its host bodies. The forerunners found out that they couldn't kill the flood using conventional means, so they decided to take away all available hosts. This stops the flood, killing all of the infected things and keeping the flood from expanding. But there are still flood there, but its not really alive, but at the same time its not dead. The flood spores left over have the potential to bring devastation, but no means by which to do it.

One thing that I want to clear up that I know as a fact. The ark wasn't built so the forerunners could take out the flood and come back. It was there to protect the Mantle. The Mantle, put very roughly, is the forerunner's mission to keep everything from going extinct. The Librarian went around and collected every living thing in the galaxy and put it on the ark so that once the rings were activated, they could come out and repopulate the galaxy (Biblical reference anyone?).

    Re: Flood, alive or dead?

Mr Sticky, most of what you said was right, but the Flood can starve and die, as can any organism once it is cut from its food source, otherwise the Forerunners wouldn't have bothered archiving the sentient species in the Galaxy.
"Die?"Kurt laughed."Didn't you know?"he told the Elite. "...Spartans never die."

As Halo 4 will (technically) be Halo: Reach, hopefully Sangheili. If the Brutes were there, then I would have to complain at that breach of canon.

    Agreed.

Anyone know where I can find out more about this Halo:Reach?

On a side note, if you're going to call Jiralhanae (sp?) Brutes (although that is a good name for them), you should probably call Sangheili Elites for the sake of consistency. We wouldn't want all the brute fans out there to know how much more respect the elites demand than brutes now would we?

Very little is known about Halo: Reach. What I can tell you is this; There are two known Spartans- Spartan-259 and Spartan-320. Fiver Spartans are shown on the release background, of which I've speculated Linda (holding a Sniper Rifle), Fred (holding a Combat Knife) and Kelly (the smallest of the group). There's a Spartan holding a very large chaingun that doesn't fit any of the known weapon types, and judging from Fred's possession of the Combat Knife, there will probably be close quarters combat.

    That's all I know.

While I see what you mean about the Brutes, I am a heavy Sangheili supporter, and am very negative of Brutes. To me, they're just that; Brutes. I fail to see their honor, and thus refuse to call them Jiralhanae.

    JymXu:

In Halo 3, all the Flood went to the Ark, then the Halo ring was activated, killing all the Flood there.

So, does anyone know if there was any Flood that didn't go to the Ark.

Maybe some that were still on other Halos.

I know they could have the Flood reappear if they wanted to but maybe someone knows for sure one way or the other.

With 7 installations, and 2 of 'em visited. We still have got 5 to go.

I also only see Brutes as brutes. I am also a supporter of the Sangheili, although I must admit that I am a heavier supporter of Unggoy liberation, as they need all the help they can get...

Maybe just stick with Elites for the Sangheili then? Because "Elite" is a pretty awesome name. "Grunt" is just demeaning.

only one that bugs me is grunts. It was just a bit weird seeing the true name for sangheili and the human's name for brutes in the same post, you know? I agree with your reasoning for calling them the different names btw. Think I might start.
