Reach was being glassed by the Covenant during the Halo Combat Evolved opening cutscene. Harvest was being taken over and then glassed during the Campaign of Halo Wars. The planet Chief is drifting to is unknown. My guess is some Forerunner Sentinel or something because it begins to glow. Btw, it cant be Onyx either because if you read

if you read Ghost of Onyx at the end it blows up into a some odd million Sentinels or something.

Um it's been awhile since I read Onyx, but didn't the spartans get teleported to the interior of Onyx? isn't it like the world in HW? This is merely speculation, and I don't know if it would work canononically, but both SoF and Chief arriving at onyx at either the same time or different times and finding the surviving spartans somehow would be great. It would be a VERY goosebumps moment for John to finally find that he's not the last one alive

i would like to confirm something


When the spirit of fire is floating around at the end of halo wars do they fine master chief?

because in halo 3 masterchief appears to go in that direction,

But allow me to say that there could be a big time lapse involved here because both are drifting without a way home for years possibly.

So Halo Buffs I call upon you. clear my head up on this miss match endings.

Nice observation, they could defintiely be linked. The thing is, we know the SOF doesent reach a UNSC planet before halo 1 (so they must have been drifting for at least 20 years,) BECAUSE otherwise Cutter and co. would have told the UNSC about the flood, and in halo 1, they know nothing about the flood. however cutter and friends wouldnt die if they were cryogenically frozen (like anders) while serina just steered the ship. Eveybody knows that in space you can keep going for every and ever and ever at the same momentum, because there is no resistance. Plus, at the VERY end of the credits serina says, "captain, we've found something" which could be 22 years later then they find John 117. THAT would be VERY cool.

However, there is no finite proof I am correct.

That would be a very goosebumps kind of ending and even though halo wars is 20 years earlier u never know... but i totally think it's possible and would be AWESOME!!!!!! I wonder if the makers did this on purpose or this is purely coincidence...

Sorry to disappoint you but halo Recon is based during halo 2. 

 

But halo wars dev team were borrowed the HALO BIBLE. And bungie took some part in the story so its meant to be a connection of some sort.

Umm, well, on the E3 site none of the developers are listed. No Bungie or Robot.
So my thought would be if they (microsoft) look to keep the Halo franchise alive, they will release a new Halo game with the drop of the next generation console. Xbox 720 or something. So that's what? two years? & Halo Wars 2 would be pretty cool, but i think they might just leave it at that. then again, we are all just speculating.

I do not believe that the two endings are connected. If anything Halo Wars 2 might be exclusively from the Covenant perspective or they just might duplicate the Halo Trilogy with it's perspective....
