I thought it wasn't that great. Marty O'Donnell could have done better.

It sounded like it was made with a computer, not live musicians.

 

Also, do you want to hear the Halo Theme in this game?

I liked it actually, while i will agree that maybe Marty O'Donnel might have done better, i have nothing to complain about the music used. :)

I liked it for a teaser trailer... hopefully the final music will sound better. I could tell it came from Ensemble Sort of had that "feel" to it.

This was also something I have slightly been concerned of. Halo, to me is a fantastic game beacause of the story, the gameplay, but also because of Marty's fantastic music skills. Although, at one moment there was the Halo theme reappearing (when we first see the elite) it wasn't too striking.overall. This is one of the disadvatages in bungie not making the HW game... no Marty :'(

I think it would be a nice change to hear another them song. Maybe they can get the same people and musicians to make a fresh new song for a fresh new halo world?

It has to be subtle music, none of the rock crap please. most RTS games i have played have had chilled and calm music.

Go to main webpage and look under the FAQ.  Esemble brought in "blur" to record the music.  Its not Marty doing the music on this game.

i dont think its a matter of us being able to know not, its a matter of one of us knowing already to be able to tell you yes or no.

 

the game was just announced, very little will be known about it.

It's a shame Marty isn't doing the music for this game, but i'm sure Blur will do just as good as Marty does, even tho that will be hard to match what Marty does.

Marty really adds to the game with his music. it will be weird not to have it there...

Thats's too bad. But RTS's don't usually need great or epic music, just songs to set the mood of the level and need to last a long time. It's not a huge loss. But Halo 3 needs him, It just wouldn't be Halo without Marty's music. The mans a genious! Halo has the best soundtrack for a video game ever created at least.

Just curious, have you listenned to the Halo 2 Soundtrack?  Very little of it is "Rock Crap".  Most of it IS chilled and calm.

I totally agree. No HALO game ever, ever, will be the same without Marty doing the music. I really don't see why he couldn't be working on music for this RTS at the same time as doing music for HALO 3. The whole mood of a RTS is more relaxed, and easier to write music for than a FPS. I hope that the developers read these comments, MARTY IS THE BEST.
