Read First Strike I think they say it in there it is new... Then again the Halo universe contradicts itself a lot... I don't mind though =-D

The flood existed before the first game...  That's not to say they'll be in this one.

 

There could have easily been a predecessor to the BR that looks similarly

 

The armor must be mark I, II or III

even the covies didnt know about the flood.  at least not in detail (not beyond myths and legends) so there is no way that they would DARE put the flood in.

No, actually In the trailer, when the UMSC troops are taking cover behind the flipped warthog. They are using battle rifles. And not just any battle rifle... they are using the Halo 2 version.

I really hope that it tells us the story of what happened to all of the spartans. Because as far as I know.. I believe there are surviving spartans.

If they put the flood in, it will ruin the FPS story-line, in my humble opinion.  If the flood get in, then the covenant should at least be smarter about countering the flood.
