    Halo Wars 2? A theory...

*There are NO spoilers in this post*

It has been said many times that the ending of Halo Wars sets us up (the gamer) nicely for a sequal. Well, I personaly find this to be true and un-true but only time will tell what happens with this game.

After doing some thinking about what Halo Wars 2 could have in store for us in terms of new content, I thought of something that seems highly logical. Apart from perhaps a map editor, and an increased population cap, new units, etc. I believe space battles are an obvious choice for an addition in Halo Wars 2.

You know how in Halo Wars, how the Covenant have leaders and the UNSC has economic and unit bonuses? Well, it would fit perfectly in the storyline if this was the opposite case in Halo Wars 2. Allow me to elaborate...

Many Halo Wars fans have read the Halo books. This makes sense because some of us are interested in the storyline. That said, those of us who have read the books know that the Covenant have a distinct advantage in space combat with numbers and better technology.

Well, what if the UNSC has leaders to choose from such as Captain Keyes? Admiral Cole? Commander Keyes? Each has their own leader power of some sort. Admiral Cole could have a MAC volley or something, I don't know.

That's just a theory that seems to fit with the storyline pretty well. And once again, it's a theory. I don't even know if there will be a Halo Wars 2.

    *Edit*

Another idea came to me. Instead (or in addition to) leader powers, they could have certain ships they use. Admiral Cole has the Leviathan, Captain Keyes could have the Pillar of Autumn (spelling?) and of course, Commander Keyes has the Forward unto Dawn (I think that's the name...) Hell, the Spirit of Fire could make a nice return with the great Captain Cutter.

Also, I am NOT saying that Halo Wars 2 should be just space battles. Star Wars: Empire at War had both space and land battles.

Re: Halo Wars 2? A theory...

No, It would have to be an exclusive space battlefield game and I just don't think that would be very feasible as I have gotten the sense that Halo ship battle invovle BAships shooting other BAships. But I might be missing something.

I will however agree that ES, Robot, Bonfire, etc kind of have their backs to the wall with HW2 in that all the content from hte past 3 Halo have been rolled into this game, I really can't see where they could go on from here without creating presently unknown units, but that's half the fun. That is IF there is going to be a sequel.

I think that Halo Wars 2 will come. They could make a UNSC leader that plays in-game and a Covenant leader that doesn't? But they could easily make brand new vehicles/aircraft for each side.  Maybe put the Rhino in that was used in the campaign. Halo wars 2 would be awesome.

I would like to see it take place on Reach, everyone knows that was the most epic Halo battle ever and with all the spartans who die i think it would make a pretty good emotional story to drag the player in.

Star Wars: Empire at War managed to do both ground battles and space battles. I don't see why Halo Wars 2 can't.

The 100% complete achievement says "ready for a sequel?"...hint.
I got Halo Wars the day it came out. I have flaming warthog and honor guard wraith. I even have the general rank and all the achievements. No one can beat that.

I dont think they should have a UNSC leader as a playable unit and a covenant leader not playable because they reason they made covenant leaders playable is so the Covenant can be equal to the UNSC due to the fact that Covenant troops are generally weaker than UNSC units.

Thank you for bringing that up so that I can prove how wrong you are. "Ready for the sequel" simply means that, and only that, you are "ready for the sequel". It does not say "Thank you for completing the game, here's what we have planned for Halo Wars 2." Completing the game means that you have nothing more to do than to wait for the sequel. Nowhere in, at, above, near, around, through, or under the achievement does it say "Robot is making a Halo Wars 2." Every company leaves the door open for a second game,(even Bungie who swore Halo 3 was the last of the trilogy) because a second game = ++ $.

Was it good for you too?

i think a whole game should be dedicated to space warfare.it would be hard for halo wars to handle 3d space combat and if it did it wouldn't give it justice.

They would not make too much sense to be able to play as. They can't manufacture things, they simply steal what they get from their victims. Everyone playing against them would have a huge advantage.

Maybe they could give the covies Super Units and Godpowers. Like their should be instead of pelican, a PHANTOM, and some infantry Super Units would be Super Locust, Building Killing Scarab, or Hybrid Grackal, a mix of grunts and jackals abilities, and for air idk.

or a huge disadvantage if they could steal their base within the first minute

    I'd Mac that!

Make temple 300, leader costs 200, increasing 200 with every death capped at 1000>my amazing balance suggestion which is never commented on goddamn you all!!!

Re: Halo Wars 2? A theory...

They could develop the second game to be based around the actions of Major Silva and Lt. McKay (from the book Halo: The Flood). This way they could incorporate Keyes, and maybe even the AI Wellsey.
