So i did mission 5 on heroic and picked up the black box and skull after killing the 5 wraiths. Then saved my game just before destroying the Covi base, so i could finish it the next day.

Then when i loaded it back up the next day to finish the level, the skull didnt show up in the mission menu as one that i have collected. So wondering if this is a glitch or something. I had to redo the mission all in one playthrough then it appeared in the menu as collected. Annoying as i like to save games and come back to them... anyone else have this problem?

Can't say I have, I simply went into the levels I hadn't picked them up and resigned after I got them, and it still saved them.

ah ok, so you dont need to finish the map - cool.

You have to finish the map to keep the skull. You can quit right after you found a black box, but if you quit when you picked up a skull it will reset and you'll have to do it all over again.

And I recommend finding the skulls and black boxes on easy so you don't have any trouble completing the map.

not sure thats right as i just went back and replayed the one with killing 750 infections - found the skull, resigned the game and it kept it.?

Maybe it wont work on a level that you haven't finished yet (playing through first time), but if you are replaying it then it will keep it?

That may be it too. Cause I remember finding a skull, resigning and the next time I played the map I didn't have it. But like you said, I don't think I finished the map before that.
