    Re: Xbox 360 vs. PS3: piece-by-piece

may i add, (yes i read it all, damn, give me an hour of my life back plz), the best thing to do is to try them out, both, with the same game, at the same time. go to a toys'r'us or something, try it, feel in analyze it, ect.

i liked 360 much more than ps3, may i quote myself

360 is superior in graphics, ergonomics, community and online service. also, cheaper

all this based on my experience on both consoles, i usually dont pay attention to numbers (except prize, of course)

its mostly agaisnt those who think the PS3 is jsut so much more powerful

the and the article started with the fact the games make the console and ended with someitnhg like "either way, gamers are gonna have plenty of high quality titles to choose from this winter season"  tho that was kinda a lie, but only in retrospect...cuz like....only GoW made waves

man i find it wierd, i mean, ps3 took AGES to come out and so i would think  its more advanced and trustworthy, but it seems to eveyone else that the 360 is way outta its league, so thats really gonna skrew sony over, i mean, releasing somthing worse than something on the market????? HUH?????

Everyone knows that the PS3 is -blam!- and they will lose the competition. They're system looks gay. and all Sony talks about is that stupid Blu-Ray, which is basically the same thing as HDDVD when it comes to quality.

in the future they could maybe use the blu-ray for advantage, but it reads discs 3x as slow as the 360's dvd drive, and the 360 has an add-on of HDDVD, if they feel liek makign that their standard lol

try the same game on both systems? the main thing that differentiates the two is the exclusive games. honestly, i think the 360 will do better. the ps3 has a variety of great games that everybody who is already planning on getting a ps3 will buy. but there won't be any games that make a 360 fan buy a ps3. for example, everybody with a ps3 will buy motorstorm, but people won't buy the ps3 for motorstorm. the 360 on the other hand, has a smaller variety (basically shooters, shooters, and shooters.) but those games are true killer apps. halo 3 will sell to all that already have 360's and people who don't have one, will get one. just for halo 3. sony doesn't have those kind of game. they have great games, but no killer apps.

however, hddvd isn't the standard for 360. while blu-ray is the standard for ps3. meaning the games on ps3 an be HUGE!!! oh and, hddvd is losing horribly in the movie industry. bum bum bum!!!

oh, and... the ps3 is pretty!

the ps3 has the potential to be amazing. but sony seems to be relying to much on their name. when people see "playstation" they think great games. and i don't think that's something sony is ready to deliver.

but HDDVD could very well become the standard, and Blu-ray will not increase graphics or anysuch things, it'd jsut affect game length, but last time i checked, the 360 has Morrowind (tho ps3 does too) and thats 120hours of core gameplay (not to mention 100s of hours of digital ADD) on jsut a regular DVD

    Re: Xbox 360 vs. PS3: piece-by-piece

the fact is, the fact that microsoft supports hddvd is not as practical as sony's support for blu-ray. blu-ray is built in right out of the box. hddvd on the 360 is an add-on, a peripheral. it's also an extra 200 bucks. it's gonna be challenging for microsoft to persuade people into buying it. all these reasons and more support the roomer (which better be god damned false) that icrosoft is developing a version 2 360 that will be quieter, have an hdmi port, and support hddvd. if they do indeed release such a system, i, and all of the other people who just purchased a 360 over the holidays along with the hddvd player, will be very angry to find out that it is already out of date. that would truely suck.

    Re: Xbox 360 vs. PS3: piece-by-piece

oh, and blu-ray could enhance graphics. good graphics take up alot of disk space. a blu-ray disc has room. i don't mean to make sony sound like a winner. i personally think the wii will come in first (stupid nintendo!) and then the 360, and then the ps3. but you see, i used to be a sony fanboy (until i realized halo 3 would be to good to miss) and so i kinda have alot of good things to say about the ps3.

    Re: Xbox 360 vs. PS3: piece-by-piece

it won't enhance graphics because the PS3s gpu won't go too much better than it is

and its easier to convince ppl to pay $200 for a HDDVD upgrade than a whole new system

and MS is not makgin a V2 360, because the 360 was deisgned for near limitless upgrades, specifically to avoid such a need (plus my uncle is on the design team and says no)

and about disc space adn graphics, the 360 actually employs such things to get more textures into smaller memory usage in-system, plus since the ps3s blu-ray reads 3x slower than the 360's DVD drive, blu-ray won't make the grpahics better, without making load times and framerates bad
