 i have always agreed that this statement proves that the monitor knows that master chief is human... and not just confusing him for the armor that he wears...

when i first played it this is one of the qoutes that made me believe the forerunners where humans... But i do not think that anybody here has pointed it out yet.

but yeah, i think the forrunners where once humans or as close as u can get but much more advanced.

If you've read into the books you'll find that their are several clues as to the forerunners true identity. Lets review a small example, the forerunner were obviously a progressive race that excelled at mastering pretty much everything, where as the various covenant races have been found to be more of imitative species rather than innovative like humans are. By this we automatically know that there can be no relation to the races of the covenant and the forerunner, of course besides their technology which the covenant had simply been salvaging from ruined forerunner city's no doubt. And the prophets probably undoubtedly know about the true identity of the Human race why else would they try so hard to cover up the true reasons behind the war, I may have lost some of you so I'll explain further, in the books as well as the game there are many instances of a covenant conspiracy. The first such, Major incident actually happened on Reach right after Halo's destruction. Reach was under covenant occupation but some UNSC forces still survived along with many other Spartans from the Cheifs very own squad. The Dr that had created the Spartans was hold up in the very same underground training facility that the Spartans called home when they were kids. under that facility was a forerunner facility in it was a map room that showed various different installations and other city's and such also there was a special crystal that could change the way of travel when a ship jumps. Anyways where Im going with this is the covenant strike team sent to recover the item did, somewhat successfully and those that had direct contact with the object and where able to see the hieroglyphic markings on it were immediately executed by the prophet of truth to hide the truth. I suspect that the reason he is named the prophet of truth is because he knows everything about the galaxy's past and holds the truth to our existence and for some reason does not want us to return to our former glory.
