    Vigil:
I find myself using PMs almost daily now, and occasionly some other forum members have asked me for help privately, to avoid spam and repeat topics. I still see them as usual tools for the forum.

pms are used to keep spam off the forums.

There have also been fights stopped with pms.

I actually have an over 1900 views pm between me and one of my friends. We've been talking to each other since May.

But now i won't be able to do that here so we'll have to move to another forums to do so....

    I am sad...

I'm using one now to keep a long discussion of the forums.

I stopped a fight from escalting between me and Sparhawk, by ending it on a PM.

I hope they say, as they are useful, but if not, I have to think of something else. E-mail maybe (When I get a working e-mail address.)

Check your pm for perhaps the last few times

I am also using one for a long conversation. It would be a big hurt to have that kind of ability go from the forums. I just hope that the "rules" I layed out in an earlier post here are looked at and considered. I dont care if they change them or whatever but personal PM's are something that I am really hoping we get to keep.

Approval of situation A recognized. Commensing the Cromwell Invocation. Ability restrictions lifted for limited use until the enemy has been rendered silent.

    Re: August Monthly Update

Email isn't as good by far. Not only does it fill up your inbox, fast (because of individual messages instead of the thread format on the forums) but emails weren't made to be longer than 500 words tops. So anything longer than that is just a read chore to get through, mostly because of how wide they go.

To be honest, I'm having difficulty seeing an equivocal replacement.

To all you guys having long conversations with people via PM...why not add them to your MSN/AIM ???

I'd bet many have, but it's not the same.

It's like your own private forum : )

    Re: August Monthly Update

I've only used PM to talk to the MODS other then that i'm indiffent with the upcoming loss of them. I was other wise happy with the news that the site would be receiving upgrades, as far as I am concerned I am please with the current update. I'm sorry to hear about Thunder but I'm glad he will be happy with his surrounding. And who can blame him really, I mean, I sure as hell don't want to be in Texas either, please. Peace out

    SOLUS:

Do you know of a major game site that uses PM's?  There is a reason. Also it has been abused in the past by people trying to send out fake beta information.

    Bungie.net.

Why don't you just block your PMs? The rest of us enjoy this feature.

SOLUS, I find your signature somewhat hypocritical considering you're taking away pms

    Re: August Monthly Update

SOLUS you aks how many game sites use PM's?

I cant think of any GOOD game forums have removed their PM option... because it kills the ability to actually meet and get to know other people on the forums... it also causes a hell of a lot more forum traffic of stupid questions that could have been answered by older members of the forums via PM...

fights can no longer resolved by PM... meaning that you will have to ban more people... which will in turn make the site more unpopular... as you slowly alienate your forumers then the people who actually care leave and move onto the next good forum... causing this forum to be overrun with noobs and spammers flaming at anything that would currently just get a sarcastic remark or two....

basically by taking out PM's you kill the community... please dont turn HWF into a Bungie.net clone... as their forums are atrocious... there should never be a time when there are 20 new threads made every minute....

I used to have an awesome signature that linked to my comic here...

too bad... goodbye any feeling of personalization on the HWF... 3 years of sig making for this website down the drain
