So I haven't completely finished teh first book/noval yet, but I heard that most of teh Spartans  from the first group died, but what happend to the second class of Spartans that were being trained? Also where exactly did Kelly Linda and Fred go? I've heard that they possible survived.

Well, thats true.. but since he said he hasnt even finished the First book yet, I would suggest he finish that one, then go on and read "The flood" and "first stike" before reading Onyx.. otherwise all we'll have is an angry noob spouting dozens more questions about whats going on.  :P
