i didnt say you were destroying it....i said contact harvest is....it is the first encounter and they meet the brutes which to me dosnt make sense....and it would be in FS that you read about the brutes

    Hello! A quick comment:

A number of people have voiced their concerns about certain inconsistencies regarding Contact Harvest and the earlier Halo novels.  However, all of this is easily explained; the Haloverse is built off certain levels of canon.  When something new and more 'correct' is introduced to the universe, it takes preference over earlier statements. This is the way Bungie operates and is one of the best ways to approach Haloverse canon.
Joseph Staten addresses this on HBO: http://forums.bungie.org/halo/archive28.pl?read=847640
So, while MC and Friends seem to be surprised by and know little of the Jiralhanae in Nylund's First Strike, this is layered over by Staten's account in CH.  They would have had some knowledge of them, unless you're a person who likes to have it both ways and try to fabricate reasons why such vital info would be kept from ole Chiefy. :)

(Apologies for the ramble, but posted just in case anyone at all was confused about certain conflicting story elements.)

    Re: To the almighty Seniors

yea, honestly, i tihnk bungie is stupid for working canon like that, and not just making everything fit together. We didn't even need brutes in Contact Harvest. Elites are good enough

    Re: To the almighty Seniors

The thing is elites had only been seen as commanding units... they wouldent have taken the role the brutes did. The brutes fough to much. the Elites started to fight in major battles midway through the war... they sat at the back and commanded befor that. I beleave it was reach that they took there position as battle commanders... they perfer to sit back and watch.
