Ill have to try that next time.
Capn Qwerty, here is your signature. I randomly picked the color. I really don't know what colors you like and don't...

Remove the * at the end of the code. Also, on a side note. CPO Pieman. I know you are just trying to help out, but IMO the way you make your signatures is a little strange. Many people don't like having the image distorted/smudged. In some tutorials you do have to use the smudge tool, but you normally can't tell because the render of what you smudged is right on top.
When you work on the next signature, try cutting out the focal point of the stock image, such as Iron Man and the Lamborghini. Then paste it into a new layer. Then work on blending the renders by smudging the background. Leave the renders alone. Many people like to have a clear render in the signatures.
I am not an expert on GIMP, but all I can do is direct you to some tutorials. http://www.pixel2life.com/tutorials/gimp/ This website has a large selection of GIMP tutorials that you can use. They shouldn't be that hard to follow. Tutorials is how everyone learns, it's how I learned to make signatures.
