    Modding A 360

Ok, this is what I wanted/want to do with Halo 3 Modding:

    user posted image
I realise its kinda hard to see the black dots, but I cannot fix this. :P

First off, all the Black dots represent a Spawn point for the AI. (In this case Flood)
The flood would start spawning at the Spawn points circled in Blue. Then after about 5-10 minutes, they would start spawning in more numbers.

After that 5-10 minutes, the AI would start Spawning at the Spawn points circled in green. They would be getting more numerous and more advanced Flood units would begin to spawn. Then they would start to spawn even MORE numerous and at different spawn points. (Ex: Pure forms like the stalker forms)

After about 20-25 minutes, the AI Flood would start to spawn at the Spawn points circled in Red. There would be 3 Flood combat forms for every Respawn point, including the spawn points circled in Red, Green, And Blue.

After all that, you will be faced with hundreds of combat forms accompanied by hundreds of infection forms. And when I say hundreds, I mean Hundreds!

Take note, I will have that one bunker filled with weapons, it will be blocked in with only one entrance, and will have 2 machine guns Guarding the doors because I realise it would begin to get impossible to hold off all those flood.

Tell me what you guys think. p.s. Please no flaming, as I do not take it well. :P

Hate to tell this to you, but after you Mod that 360, you won't be able to play online with it EVER AGAIN.  You're Live account....maybe, but not that system.

Otherwise, that seems a solid plan.

Just send it to Japan and have them return it to normal. :P

He is right though. Unless u have 2 360s this wouldnt work out. Live couldnt work if u did that.

Edit:I never was banned if thats wat ur implying. This is a solid and excellent idea just u wouldnt get live to work and unless u had 2 360s u couldnt do this.(That is if u play live my free membership ended and now I cant get it back)

If H3 ever goes to PC, you should make a map like that.

For a fun game click here.
Do not click this link :P

    Re: Modding A 360

Pending whether you soft mod or hard mod you box, you may be able to do this as well as play online. Hard modding nearly ALWAYS leads to immediate XBL ban. Soft modding has to be caught online, but as this seems mostly like a SP experience anyway, that shouldn't be much of a problem.

As I know of no current 360 soft mod kits, I can't help you with that, nor can I help you will programs to use to actually mod the content.

If this were an xbox original game, I could help you ,as I soft modded my box. Problem was, it was a beta box, and thus was an epic fail when it came to modding H1 and H2. Although the Game copier worked wonders. It was always fun to play system link with only one copy of the game. And MP3s playing behind the menus was cool too. And turning up the fan speed to reduce heating.

Hey NT did you hear about some guy who edited a game variant on his computer then put it on his X360 so that it had instant respawn?

Do you reckon you would get banned if you used that game-type for custom games as it has been modified?

You guys do realize that your talking about illegally altering Microsoft equipment, on a Microsoft website right? And yes you can bypass the copyright on the disk and alter things with a PC, that is also illegal. I recommend that the mods delete or lock this thread. I used to be a Microsoft employee, BTW.

The plan is good, only problem is it's execution...
As far as I know the halo 3 modding research is still going on, and AI is not possible yet.

You'll have to wait untill they get that sorted out.

Perhaps if you're feeling brave you can make High Ground into a halo custom edition map and populate it there?

Yes its Ensemble Studios website.  However, Ensemble has made games for Microsoft ever since the beginning.  Thus making as a de facto branch of Microsoft.

Microsoft own the rights to Halo, so they must keep an eye on anything with the Halo name on it, so its a bad idea to say it here.

I saw a guy who modded his 360 into a laptop and was playing Halo 3 on it, but I doubt it was online.
