Um, angel?  It's the Mark IV, not the Mark V.

Say what? lol.  I don't think that there IS a Mark IV (4) armor that we have been shown, except perhaps in fanart or other unofficial sources.  Though, I'm always delighted to be proven wrong by cited materials (like referencing a novel's page number).  I am not being sarcastic, either, I hate being wrong and thinking I'm right, so if somebody knows something official that I don't, please, do enlighten me.

And... even if there WERE to be Mark IV armor, this event takes place well after 2525, when the SPARTAN-II's were issued their Mark V armor on Chi Ceti IV at the Damascus Testing Facility.

    Have a Merry Christmas, all!

Sounds like they're going the same route that UNSCDF did - mostly accurate information, with corners cut when convenient and occasionally just made-up stuff.

Never was the version of Mark V armor that John-117 wore prior to the shielded version referred to as Mark IV armor.  I checked his page number references in The Fall of Reach, and all it was describing was the unshielded version of the Mark V.  The versions that they HAD been using, I'm guessing, were just near-complete prototypes that they were forced to gain access to ahead of schedule.  Later, they were able to give them access to the FULLY complete version of the Mark V.

In either case, the supposed "Mark 4" armor that they are referring to in that article looks identical to the Mark V armor, unlike the Halo Wars version of MJOLNIR armor, which looks like a different take on the Mark VI armor, the helmet especially.

Hope I've dispelled some of the BS floating around.  Hate that stuff.  It smells. :P

Well, it's not MC, but yea it is kinda wierd.

How do you know it's not MC look at the guy to the rights Armour  compared to the guy on the left, it's the MJOLNIR

Re: Halo Wars Monthly Update 12.12.07

Even if it is the mark IV armour then it could still be MC because in the link you gave it says in right there "The MJOLNIR Mark VI as it appears in Halo 2" to the right in the middle of the page where the pictures are.

Can you guys imagine i mean they got a guy with that armour so you could rule out if they even have spartans wearing that armour at that time(2552)

The Mark VI armor was not in developement until 2552, Halo: Graphic Novel, the Mark V armor was not until 2551-2552, counting testing and such. There is no way in hell that the armor in trailer is a "variation" of the Mark VI armor. This game takes place in the early years of the Human-Covenant War, it is most likely a preversion of the Mark V armor, thus making it a Mark IV. Unless stated otherwise we can safely assume that is what it is.

There are as we know 33 Spartans left at this time.  ES said it themselves loud and clear that MC will NOT be making an appearence in this game.
