    Suggestions to newcomers

I speak for all of the senior members when I say, We enjoy watching this fourm grow and we enjoy having you newcomers around. we dont want you gone.... but we dont want you to be stupid either.

first off... do not spam... having a high post count does not make you a senior member and does not make you more popular... if a senior member askes you to stop spamming... then tone it down a bit...  you should not ever have 100 posts in a single day... there is no way for that to happen without spam...

next... think before you post.... read the FAQ and the Forum Code of Conduct before posting to make sure that what you ae planning on doing is not against the rules of the fourm... or is not easily answered by the FAQ

a couple of issues that I have noticed are that people believe that this game is an FPS.... it is actually a Real Time Strategy game... and will not have an FPS option... plz do not make threads on this. secondly... this game happens BEFORE the events on the first halo...

there is a nifty feature on this forum called the search button in the upper right hand corner... please use it before you make a thread... as if you make a thread that has already been talked about 100 times before you joined... then you will get yelled at... and flamed.... if your search does not come up with any finds... try a new way of saying it....

    example.

Halowars FPS! may not get any results.... while FPS for Halo Wars might....

    now onto posting....

Please do not Necro threads.... a necro is a thread that is very old... and generally is not being talked in... 90% of the time necroing the thread is a bad thing.... never necro a thread just to say something along the lines of "I agree!" or "You suck noob!" .... never necro unless the thread actually needs to be talked about in... or if you actually have something to contribute to the thread.

and please before you necro or post at all READ THE THREAD ... long threads that have long arguments on issues usually have already talked about the things that you are trying to argue... and have already resolved the issues with it... putting that back into the argument will just get you flamed...

in the event of being flamed DO NOT FIGHT BACK

fighting back dosn't help you or the fourms.... because if you argue against an older member... his friendsw ill join in... and then other noobs will join in... and soon you have a huge flamefest in a good topic... if you have an issue with someone please resolve it via PM... you are the newcomer to an established community... you need to be accepted... and you will not be if you fight wilt established members. the calling of NOOB at a senior member will get you yelled at...

and @ senior members.... we have all done it... but lets try to not flame noobs any more... if you have an issue with a noob report him and ignore him.

do not post anything that people may find offensive, racist, or that may provoke a fight..... you may find it funny to post a picture of a dead US soldier with the word NOOB over his head.... while some of us may have had friends who have died in war recently.... you do not need to post these pictures... however funny as they may be to you... keep them off of these fourms.

next... please talk english....  no... i dont just mean dont talk other languages... but I mean talk in english that we can understand.... use spellcheck and at least pay attention to punctuation. a long run on paragraph with no breaks makes people angry.... as does L33t speak and using ingame spelling.

    Good

Why are you trying to flame me to death?

    Bad

    y r u trin ta flme me ta de4th?

We do want to have you newcomers on the fourms.... and we like to hear your opinions and get your input... you just need to post smart and think before posting....

remember... only you can prevent wildflaming

Well, at least you had a logical argument. That may help.

And how do  I lock my post?

Just wondering: how will new forumers find this thread if we lock all the posts? It would just fall off the first pages, and I don't think anyone searches for threads like this when they join forums. Good post though.
A Halo Wars Story: Once upon a time, there was a light bridge. On that light bridge there were a lot of covenant. The UNSC turned the bridge off however. The covenant fell. The End.

it is linked in my signature... but if people post spam in it then it looses its significance.... the thing is few noobs will see it... but the few that do will hopefully follow the rules
