Wow, I guess this is just my opinion but like others i think flood should of been playable. It not because I love them or anything it more for strategic purposes.. Just doing UNSC and Covenant will not allow the strategic field to expand eventually everything will be countered by something. I realize the leaders make up a change in pace, but seriously you mainly have the same units and leaders arn't all they cracked up to be... Scarabs also arn't scary lol
Anyway... adding the flood faction even if you make it an unlock-able faction would be nice. It make it 3 factions entirely not 2 and it could just be the Gravemind as leader. Since it the flood that's the only leader you should have. leader powers would be interesting like;
Breach: which would make like 4 tentacle flood spring up in a targeted area
Spore sac: which would make a spore sac in the area that can work as a stationary elephant and evolve to either make infantry or heavy infantry or air units. (This power should also use up population and be a power you get late in the game)
Flood Spore: which targets infantry and turns them into flood in a radius
but lol that the only leader powers i can think of guess you can also do the leader power similar to Cutter's ODST drop since in halo 3 last level the flood dropped out of the sky in make shift canister drop pods. . . So it not something that hasn't been done.
I wouldn't agree to increasing the flood's attack power or health all the flood units already in the game are what should be used, they are strong enough and don't need tampering. I would suggest either make all their population like 1 for the majority of the flood or up their max population.
Also they would be vulnerable to flamethrowers the most since they are all biological units so as flood it changes your strategy and forces you to make a verity of units anyway.
Also if you make the flood race put it into an update then make it unlock-able and add an achievement to get it like say "kill 1000 flood squads in multiplayer" or "kill 1000 flood bases in multiplayer games" something like that would not only increase the popularity in flood maps like exile, but also make fighting in multiplayer different since the enemy would want the clear the map before you do so they can get their flood race lol.
(you would have to make it so the achievement is only awarded in 1v1 2v2 or 3v3 public matches) Making a series of new achievements by killing flood stuff to get flood would be cool too also say you might have to do all the "flood" extra things in games like when it tells you to kill 20 stalkers
The flood race should also be weaker than UNSC and Covenant completely like the Zerg is vs Terran and Protoss in Starcraft... Meaning that it will be a good race for experienced players to use. But make the flood bases more health lols and no turrets >.< Since Gravemind's special abilities should recharge like 50% faster than everyone elsez.
Overall I doubt they will put flood in, but if they do I will be pleased. i was actually very disappointed with the lack of flood as a Playable Faction as well as lack of a map editor... >.> I loved Essemble games but this one was a bust compared to others (I mean in terms of special features, game play wise it is good and I very pleased with that half)
They said even after the company went out they would still have a team to improve halo wars... so maybe they should start improving more than just trying to re-balance already existing races.
Anyway just another personal opinion but i don't think you should be able to make infection forms rather they should be in the faction in terms like the flood carriers Y ability or that air unit which just drops them from the sky.
Adding the ability to infect Spartans would be neat, kinda how Starcraft did it with Infected Terrans lol but of course in a different way
