    Flood Race (Really In-depth)

    So I thought about it, and this was what I came up with.

    Flood

    Any number greater than 50 is the cost. Any number less than 10 is the Tech required.

    • Flood Base (No name yet, but kind of like the ones you see on maps like Release and stuff, starts out with only 3 pads, which are kind of like arms, and have little those tentacle things that hit you), 400 Resources, You can build Infection forms (come in 3 packs of 10, cost 300, takes 15 seconds), first Upgrade is Infest Ability 1(150), second upgrade is Carrier Form 2(300), third is speed 3(550), fourth is more health 4(700)
    • 1st Base Upgrade, 200 Resources
    • 2nd Base Upgrade, 350 Resources
    • Dronehouse (Equivalent to Warehouse), 75 Resources (Balanced because of pricey upgrades)
    • Combat Hive, 200 (Similiar to Hall/Barracks, but can only research techs, by building one you allow Infection forms to morph to Standard Combat Form), can research Speed Upgrade 0(150), Armor Upgrade(150)0, Melee Attack(150) Upgrade0, Faster Recovery Upgrade 1(200), Cliff Climbing Upgrade 2(300), and morph to Carrier Form upgrade 2(500).
    • Stalker Complex, 225 (Tech 1) (Same as Combat Hive, by building allows the morphing of Stalker Form), can research Jump Ability 1(200), Faster shooting 1(200), Enhanced Melee Special Ability 1(200), More Armor 2(300), More Damage 2(350), and Upgrade Ability (Morph)2.
    • Range Form Plant, 250 (Tech 2) (Allows the building of the Range Form), can research Longer Range 2(300), Double Projectiles 2(300), More Damage 3(300), More Health 3(350), Self Destruct Special Ability 4(400), Accuracy Upgrade 4(400)
    • Tank Form Mine, 400 (Tech 3) (Allows to building of the Tank Form), can research eject Infection Form Special Ability 3(400), Enhanced Strength 3(400), Enhanced Armor 3(400), Increase Damage vs. Infantry 4(450), Increase Damage vs. Vehicles 4(450), Increase Damage vs. Buildings 4(500)
    • Overmind, 150 (Tech Building, Tech Upgrades cost 300, 500, and 700.)
    • Turret things that shoot those spores at you for 250

    Lol. And here are the units:

    • Flood Infection Form. Y ability is to Infest if pointed at opponent; morphs to Carrier Form if pointed at own unit;if not pointed at something simply opens up the Morph menu, which allows you to morph to 5 Combat Forms (100), 3 Stalker Forms (200), 2 Range Forms (250), 1 Thrasher Form (100), 1 Bomber Form (200), and 1 Stalker Form (400). Can also revive corpses. (Might be OP)
    • Flood Bomber and Thrasher are the same thing they are in campaign.
    • Combat Form's Y ability is to morph to a full Health carrier form, without the aid of an Infection form. Cliff Climbing upgrade allows it to jump up and off of a cliff. It slowly regenerates its own health. Anti-Infantry.
    • Stalker Form's Y ability is to attack something that is right next to it, which takes out a lot of health. Jump Ability allows it to hop to a different location. Anti-Vehicle.
    • Range Form's Y ability is to self destruct, which deals a lot of damage. Anti-Air.
    • Tank Form's Y ability is to spit 10 infection forms at whereever you place your cursor. Semi-long cooldown. Main Infantry.

    Why would it get shot down? Lol.

    I think its the best out of all the ideas I had for Flood.

    Like you may need to adjust the numbers, but that's about it.

    I think it could work, but the flood have to get a bit of a buff from what they are in single player and campaign. They should also have a very high population from like 75, then upgrade to 100. Or 99 because I think that is the max.

    I like the effort but honestly there have been like a billion of these types of thread crying out for a flood faction. The only thing close to flood happening in a game type is a flood survival game were you and a couple of teammates fend of flood until, well until they eat!

    It's a cool idea and it'd be sweet to have the flood in game, but hasn't it already been said in other posts that the flood just can't work... or am i being a killjoy?

    i meant by that is it usually gets shot down by a mod saying they won't add flood then it just dies, but i do think if any of the countless number of idea topics for the flood this is the best and has the best chance of being accepted as "Official Flood Faction Plan" by robot and mods plus the community in general

    Wow, I guess this is just my opinion but like others i think flood should of been playable. It not because I love them or anything it more for strategic purposes.. Just doing UNSC and Covenant will not allow the strategic field to expand eventually everything will be countered by something. I realize the leaders make up a change in pace, but seriously you mainly have the same units and leaders arn't all they cracked up to be... Scarabs also arn't scary lol

    Anyway... adding the flood faction even if you make it an unlock-able faction  would be nice. It make it 3 factions entirely not 2 and it could just be the Gravemind as leader. Since it the flood that's the only leader you should have. leader powers would be interesting like;

    Breach: which would make like 4 tentacle flood spring up in a targeted area

    Spore sac: which would make a spore sac in the area that can work as a stationary elephant and evolve to either make infantry or heavy infantry or air units. (This power should also use up population and be a power you get late in the game)

    Flood Spore: which targets infantry and turns them into flood in a radius

    but lol that the only leader powers i can think of   guess you can also do the leader power similar to Cutter's ODST drop since in halo 3 last level the flood dropped out of the sky in make shift canister drop pods. . . So it not something that hasn't been done.

     I wouldn't agree to increasing the flood's attack power or health all the flood units already in the game are what should be used, they are strong enough and don't need tampering. I would suggest either make all their population like 1 for the majority of the flood or  up their max population.

    Also they would be vulnerable to flamethrowers the most since they are all biological units so as flood it changes your strategy and forces you to make a verity of units anyway.

     

    Also if you make the flood race put it into an update then make it unlock-able and add an achievement to get it like say "kill 1000 flood squads in multiplayer" or "kill 1000 flood bases in multiplayer games" something like that would not only increase the popularity in flood maps like exile, but also make fighting in multiplayer different since the enemy would want the clear the map before you do so they can get their flood race lol.

    (you would have to  make it so the achievement is only awarded in 1v1 2v2 or 3v3 public matches) Making a series of new achievements by killing flood stuff to get flood would be cool too also say you might have to do all the "flood" extra things in games like when it tells you to kill 20 stalkers

     

    The flood race should also be weaker than UNSC and Covenant completely like the Zerg is vs Terran and Protoss in Starcraft... Meaning that it will be a good race for experienced players to use. But make the flood bases more health lols and no turrets >.< Since Gravemind's special abilities should recharge like 50% faster than everyone elsez.

     

     

    Overall I doubt they will put flood in, but if they do I will be pleased. i was actually very disappointed with the lack of flood as a Playable Faction as well as lack of a map editor... >.> I loved Essemble games but this one was a bust compared to others (I mean in terms of special features, game play wise it is good and I very pleased with that half)

     

    They said even after the company went out they would still have a team to improve halo wars... so maybe they should start improving more than just trying to re-balance already existing races.

    Anyway just another personal opinion but i don't think you should be able to make infection forms rather they should be in the faction in terms like the flood carriers Y ability or that air unit which just drops them from the sky.

    Adding the ability to infect Spartans would be neat, kinda how Starcraft did it with Infected Terrans lol but of course in a different way

    It would be great if it were like an expansion set. Like Brood Wars in SC or like the newer 360 games, Fable II, Borderlands, etc. Double multiplayer maps((8 maps for 3v3 instead 4), Map Editor(You can make maps in Halo 3 for Christ's sake!), and the Flood. Maybe even a campaign for the covie, could be a side story like that of the UNSC campaign.

    When I first played Halo/Halo2 I was greatly reminded of StarCraft. The spreading of the Flood/Zerg across the galaxy. The aristocracy of the Covenant/Protoss. Then the UNSC/Terran colonies.

    I would love to have the Flood as playable even if it was only a Game add-on. even 1000 microsoft points would be worth having the privelidge of being an Infected Elite/Spartan. If I was an Infected Spartan, maybe I could hijack a Scorpion to make it an Ifected Scorpion!!!
