As a result to the surge of new members, I've created some basic pointers for you to have a good time on this forum and post your ideas appropriately. 

For request please private message me and i will consider whether it is worthy of the guide. Do take notice I will be gone as of 11/11/07 so do not message after that date thank you.

Major Things To Know

1.) Think Before You Post

a.) Although I'm sure your idea is brilliant, others may have already posted it use the search button and type in your idea. If you see nothing like what you have feel free to post.

b.) Don't make your thread hard to read, countless good idea's have been shot down due to stress of reading. Some pointers are use paragraphs, think your whole idea out before typing it up, bulletins aren't necessary but are helpful.

2.) Common Threads- I cant begin to imagine how many threads have had repeats of so here's my advice.

3.) Revamping Old Threads

a.) Its not really necessary if it ended long ago that usually means the debate and ideas ended.

b.) unless it is absolutely necessary and you have a good reason for you may post there.

a.) although I highly don't mind them, a lot of people do not like them so please do not post them.

5.) Do's and Dont's

a.) Please take notice this is not a first person shooter (FPS)/ Real Time Strategy (RTS) Hybrid. The game is purely a good old fashiond RTS so I warn you not to make a thread asking for it.

b.) If you have a problem with a member ex:herrasment, threats, voulgar content (pictures, movies, words). Please just warn the person of what they are doing if it is truely unliked there is a report button there is no need to make things get worse.

Minor Things To Know-

1.) Grammar

a.) Sometimes your threads and/ or post can be hard to read, use spell check and revise your work once or twice.

b.) Overall Complication- sometimes people think its cool to underline, bold, caps lock some parts of there thread its highly disrespected and most will just ignore you even if you have a good idea, so don't do that.

2.) Flaming

a.) First of all its never necessary.

b.) Don't do it because not only does it spam these forums it doesn't solve much.

c.) If your going to do it don't do it anywhere around here, if absolutely necessary due it in the in-box don't waste our time.

d.) If your having a hard time with a person called Night Tamale come get me =).

3.) Fan Fictions

a.) They are mostly welcomed here do not over exploit your fan fic if no one talks about it anymore let it be.

b.) If you get constructive critism dont cry about it or herras the person for voicing there rightful opinion.

c.) Dont be to harsh if you didnt like the fan fic you can simply say you didnt have a taste for it and leave it at that.

4.) Forum Society

a.) As in any civilization or human nature there is always a social heirarchy. In this forum we suffer and prosper from a few cases but that doesnt mean everyone on each front is a bad person, people just often get bad reputations for that one bad apple.

b.) Some of the social "ranks" are: Noob, Newb, Senior, Veteran, Baptist Priest(reserved for AI only), Respected Members, and just Member.

c.) There are 3 fronts on the forum those who hate/oppose noobs, those who are noobs, and those who just enjoy the game halo wars and can care less about the state of the forum.

d.) Some people recieve titles because of there post count, membership length, or intelligence. But often people will say "all seniors suck and have no life." this is a mutual disrespect to those people who have actually gave time to help out the site and be a positive member in the community. Dont be fooled though there are those out there who really.......need help.

Facts About Halo Wars:

 1.) Gameplay- Alot of people ask how Halo Wars is supposed to be diffrent from RTS's aside from the fact its halo.

a.)  Well to me the one thing im looking forward to the game is the Controls. Halo War Developers think they have cracked the code to controls for RTS's on Consoles, I have my full faith in what they say, the controls will focus on the buttons x and a, of course other buttons can be used. You can click on a unit to select it, double click it to select units of the same type, or for massive selections hold down the button and use a "paint brush" and go over the units to select them.

b.) In an interview http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=168577 with CVG the developers said that he was starting to get bored of the standard focus on base rts, he wants to make it so the player focus's and anticipates combat, ex: taking cover, actuall strategy.

2.) Multiplay- what will halo wars do for multiplayer?

a.) Of course halo series being the most played multiplayer series you will expect alot from halo wars and I think its safe to say they delivered, Halo wars will be fully co-op through online.

b.) Halo Wars is redefining rts battles instead of spamming units and looking at your base 80% of the time the game will actually require you to attend the epic battles occuring. And im sure the multiplayer battles will be great due to the 360's great graphics.

3.) Enviorment- What will halo wars bring visual wise?

a.) The game will not take place on a ring at all, however halo wars will be taking place on multiple planets in just about every enviorment, expect them to change drastically.

b.) The enviorment is interactive somewhat to the point for taking cover, etc.

4.) Game Type- What kind of RTS is Halo wars?

a.) Well let me say now halo wars is not an FPS its an RTS.

b.) Halo Wars is a base building rts, if you look on the homepage in the images of the base everything there is buildable.

c.) Economy? The economy will be resource gathering in a way, pelicans will drop in your resources so they can be harvested for production.

5.) Side Notes- just stuff you should know.

a.) Time Period? Halo Wars takes place in the year 2531 and only 2531 this is before Halo: Combat Evolved.

b.) Space Battles, Definate no im sorry but there will be none in Halo Wars, maybe cinimatically.(has been confirmed there will be no space battles but if your desperate for halo space battles message this guy http://www.moddb.com/mods/9722/halo-homefront or the mod for Empire At War http://mods.moddb.com/5939/halo-first-offensive/

c.) Spartans, the master chief is not in halo wars the spartans you seen in the trailer is spartan group omega.

d.) Covenant Playable? although the developers havent said they will be playable I think it's pretty obvious they will be.(hint to developers)

e.) Demo- There will be a playable demo but its a long ways away, the demo you may have heard of is this http://www.halowars.com/Media.aspx (first video)

6.) Popular Fiction- stuff people think may be in halo wars.

a.) The flood, Sentinals, and Heretics, although like i said this takes place in 2531 and none of these characters where discovered until later, no developer has said they will not be in halo wars so as they would say stay tuned.

b.) URF, The United Rebels Front is a big possibility for multiplayer or neuteral faction in the game, but also still not been confirmed.

c.) Ability to jump into character or any FPS or Shooter type game, this is a big no no sorry.

d.) This game will not be on the PC or PS3. (stated by graeme himself.)
