Sorry buddy, I like both cod and halo but I lean more towards cod. cod's story lines are intense and interesting as well, but i guess it takes someone who is aware of whats going on in the world to play it. halo is not original im sorry to say. yes its story line is very well written and fun but it follows star crafts foot steps almost identically.

    Re: The End of Halo?

Woah! So Starcraft has huge, ancient structures in space that are able to wipe out all sentient life, as well as a conglomerate alien organization bent on both firing those rings and Humanity's destruction? Oh, and there's an extragallactic alien species that simply wants to eat and absorb all knowledge in the Universe, and is hell-bent on preventing the rings from taking their food source? And the Humans have a cohesive government structure, and their military is more than a bunch of red-neck inmates?

I didn't know they were so simillar! Identical, even!

Seriously though; I grow tired of this comparison. Starcraft and Halo have a loose connection at best. So just don't even try.

As for CoD? It's fine if you like it - I like it too. But as for it's storyline? You say Halo's not original, turn on either Fox News or the History Channel; there's your CoD storyline. Great games, absolutely fantastic job on MW - but not what I would call outstanding plot.

    The Kelvinator:

Umm. A lot more people than you think wouldn't have seen the commercials.

I didn't, the only game commercial I've ever seen for a non-kids game I had to search through the internet for ages to find (that was halo 3s).

It's not common knowledge here. Maybe in the MW forums, not here.

Even here, a forum for halowars, for like the next 2 months after halowars came out, people were respectful enough to put a spoiler alert at the start of any and all threads on the campaign in case someone either hadn't got to that point yet or didn't have the game yet.

It may shock you to find this out, but I think you need to know. Not everyone watches a lot of TV. Crazy.

Also, there are people on these forums who don't live in America, where we get different commercials.

    Think before posting. Please.

It's not a spoiler if it has already been revealed in a Trailer, Press Release, or TV spot - regardless of whether you have seen them or not.

Reading this was quite amusing as you seem to have the originality situation backwards. Please tell me where you have seen the plot to Halo before? Have you seen it on TV? Have you seen it on the news? Have you seen it in any fiction? Oh wait apparently Starcraft eh?

You mean to tell me that because they have aliens and a small connection that they are similar?

Yes Halo is repetitive and CoD is original, I would like to know the little world you live in.

    Concerning Halo and Star Craft.

Both have an alien race bent on humanity's destruction

Both have rebel human factions that were fighting each other until the aliens showed up.

That's about all I've noticed as similarities between the two - Starcraft and Halo - and really that's not all that much. Most space epics involve similar ideas, but that's not to say that they are unoriginal. What else is there to do in space other than encounter aliens and fight off human insurrections? Not much, at least not much that would be of any interest in a video game.

CoD...I wouldn't say that it's original, but considering that it's an FPS and not a movie it is sort of...unique. Yes, it borrows a lot of its story line from current world events, but it adds a further "what-if" element to it.

I can't really think of other FPS's that do anything like CoD did.

For the campaign and it's what-ifs. Turning Point: Fall of Liberty

Quite a large what-if, of course that's one game but there are other games with 'what-if' spins on historical or modern events.

I would give examples but I can't think right now due to classes.

I did say "Current world events."

If I'm not right, Turning Point was another WWII shooter. WWII = unoriginal, instantly.

Regardless of whether it's original or not, it's kick ass. Nothing better than being able to spawn with a Sniper Rifle.
