Nothing to argue because you can not counter. If you remember this is a "what if" and the what if is if our modern military went up against the UNSC. And seeing as what i said above was in the games (as you wanted so dearly), it shows how much the UNSC kicks some serious ass. And if their weaponry were compared to ours, as well as theirs and our tactics, they would be vastly superior.

You can not tell the difference... Have you looked at the spartan laser? Name one handheld weapon the U.S. has that can compete with that.
One super soldier who took freakin killed thousands and thousands of alien being and completed so many ops that out military would proclaim impossible to do.
Not only is MC one unit facing many, I know you didn't go through campaign without dying. Not to mention he's a variable as it depends on who is playing with him so his skill=dependent on player. You would have been better off using a tennis racket as a cup than using this argument.
And the fact that the MC by himself is more skilled than just about anyone in battlefield tactics and weaponry and hand-to-hand combat does not mean anything? We are talking about the UNSC units not like we are playing a game.
And btw, if you really want to you use that arguement, the MC has infinite respawns, so try killing him like that.
and yes, i do not see an effective way to destroy the Hayclon-Class Cruiser that the Pillar of Autumn is. Namely it has so many meters of titanium-a armor, and the fact that we can only damage that with nukes. But since it would be attacking us on this planet, it would be unwise to set off a nuke on our planet.
I was talking about the halo ring because I excluded space in my first post. I admit that if UNSC had space (game or no), yes we would lose. Comparing our weaponry on earth to that of the UNSC in the games is a joke.
How is it a joke? They clearly have more advanced weaponry.
And do not even say that we could send it to them in space. What would we send it in? The fragile NASA spaceshuttles? Those can be taken care of easily by the Pillar of Autumn.
I'm sure our missiles can travel across great distances in space given that space has no friction, but even still, space was excluded.
Our missiles probaly would have a very difficult time getting through the atmosphere, and for the ones that could, nothing short of a nuke in todays weaponry would even be able to damage it. But the Ship's A.I. would be more than capable of hacking and disableing the nuke from a safe distance.
Again, you compar the ODST to the covenant and the MC. Because when compared to the MC, everyone seems like that. But without compaing them to their surroundings, compare them to the damned topic, our military, in which the ODSTs have numbers, weapons, and superior training on their side.

The A.I. is irrelevant. We speak of unit training, weaponry, and their strengh in numbers and other factors that decide who win wars. Not how they were programmed in a game.

An important thing about ODSTs is that they can be fighting the second they get out of a pod that came from outserspace. It is very relavent because not only could our military not compete with that, but it also provides new tactical areas for the UNSC, offering more room to outsmart their opponents.
