I believe that the best way to do a story is to have a good balance between story and action. Don't sacrifice either for the other. Now, with the wise sounding speech done, I reckon this is a good time for another action sequence.

hmm...i read chapter one. and only one. cause i lazy like that.

i have to say god good descriptions, but i was a little disappointed by some of the sentence construction. You tend to drag on sentences futher then needed in some parts. Yet and other you could've of combined.

i caught some places that could've of used a comma or two.

your character development was pretty good.

all and all, it was an above average chapter. good job.

i'll read the other chapters later.
