collie2553: All right, ODST supporters, let me give you reasons Elites are superior. 1) Their weaponry consists of SUPERHEATED plasma, which will probably melt steel and titanium. 2) Elites are physically better 3) Elites probably could squish a human with its weight 4) Because Elites are a warrior race, they had much more experience with war than humans. And lastly, 5) Elites have shields, invisibility, AND glassing tech.
And what do ODSTs have?
Surprise + luckiness.
1)Like people said already it would take longer to melt through titanium it would take constant damaging of the plasma rifle, plus after that the plasma rifle does damage against flesh, but no where near as much as UNSC weapons do. UNSC weapons are mostly more powerful because plasma hurts bad but does not kill, assault rifles once the shield is down cut straight through elites.
2)Physically better in some way, but no brutes against a hardened ODST sometimes it goes down to skill.
3)Elites wiegh about as much as spartans without their armor. Spartans wiegh about 300 or more pounds. 300 pounds spread out against an elite body slamming into a human would hurt, not squish them it would not come anywhere near squishing them.
4)So you are saying humans are not a warrior race, humanity was born out of conflict and never stopped having conflicts, just because elites are a warrior race does not mean anything really, humanity has been at war with its self since it first rose and has not stopped yet. It is just the covenant made humanity come closer together. Humans and elites are bought warrior race it is just one is more civilized then the other.
5)Elites shields are not invincible they go out fairly rather quickly, from 50 feet or so the assault rifle can take out an elite's shields in seconds. The battle rifle penetrated elites shields with one shot in First strike, might i add the elites were invisible. Invisibility can easily be countered with motion sensor or heat vision, and night i think. Glassing tech i will give you that, but that makes elites that much more wusses by calling themselves honorable warriors then glassing the planet from orbit how very honorable.NOT!!
The ODSTs have training, practice on the field which means they have fought elites before and killed them. They are sort of like Elite Majors they have fought and earned their place in some sense. They have stronger weapons for ground engagments, better vehicles.
