As a swordsman, I can say this: when its everyone against you,
inevitably you will face a coordinated attack. now with some footwork,
yes you could still take them with one blade, however, i have found it
much easier to use one to block, the other follows with an attack and
the first blocks that other attack. or, both block, you move, then
attack/defend as described before. for all you fencers out there, if
you've ever had a frre-for-all melee with sabres, then you knowwhat im
talking about.
Next, as someone mentioned before,
the swords are a symbol of rank in the Covenant Elite structure. there
for, an elite with two swords could be off some rather prodigious skill
or a great leader. again, in my experience, it takes incredible
concentration and coordination to effectively use two blades in a
sword-fight. and with one blade, those twin-bladed fighters are still
pretty deadly.
