    Re: Stasis Drain.

It's not. When you have Stasis Bomb it annihilates air units.

    Re: Stasis Drain.

It's amazing.  I got my Arbiter rush countered hard today on a large map.  He massed Hornets, and I was able to fight it off a little bit with my banshees, but he killed my hero.  I massed these because I knew they were good anti air but I didn't have much experience with them.  Stasis Drain actually stuns the air unit that it hits.  Unless it's a Vulture.  Banshees, Hornets, Hawks, Engineers, whatever.  If you are good at micro, what you will do is click them to start a drain on a unit (Gains you health and works the unit down), then grab your Vampires one by one and stasis drain separate units.  It's a total lock down against an all air opponent.  Not to mention the health drain you get from it when teched.  Even if you can only nab 2-3 units with it, it usually has an effect like that of Dragonhawk's Aerial Shackles in WC3.  It forces combat.  They don't want to just sacrifice those 3 units to a permastun drain, so they'll fly some back in.  Then you nab more.  It's game over from there.  Their only weakness is lower damage to ground units.

Idk it seems like the stasis bomb does little to no damage, its not much of an explosion =/

but none of this explains why its so bad. stasis bomb shouldnt even be considered a "bomb". it makes a pretty graphical effect and no damage is done to anything...

    Re: Stasis Drain.

Are the surrounding targets next to the victim of the stasis bomb, or a little further away. If so, I guess the blast radius is puny.

It was a bunch of units sitting next to eachother. Im pretty sure the Hornets would have had to been boning the other one in the rear to have even the slightest spash damage effect on it...

Well then, at least the fact that the enemy aircraft is useless while in a stasis is a great advantage on itself. Especially with the drain upgrade. =D

yeah but thats the thing, theyre not useless they can still shoot. so it defeats the purpose of even using it when the regular attack would kill it much faster...

But the vampires still shoot while using the stasis.

    Re: Stasis Drain.

Are you sure?  A stasis'd air unit should not be able to move or shoot.  The Vampire doing the stasis should also not be able to shoot.  The

    Re: Stasis Drain.

I'm pretty sure air units that are getting Stasis Drained can still shoot and move. But that doesn't make it bad. You're still damaging them quickly while healing at the same time. The ensuing explosion is just a bonus.
