DX Dazed:anything can be good for that matter in the hands of a skilled player.
Not strictly true. A pro player can beat a fine gentleman player by cheesing, but against someone else who is good, then there are plenty units that aren't used in high level play, engineers for example.
DX Dazed: You keep assuming that everyone is 1337, and that everyone shares your
enthusiasm for hogs. True they can be good, true many people use them
effectively, but thats not how everyone plays.
But that's how everyone good plays.
DX Dazed: And if you come back
with an argument on how all good players must play a certain way(ie hog
users) then you are just lying to yourself,
I'm not lying to myself, and every good UNSC player uses Hogs early game, and most likely mid and late as well. Especially for 1v1, in teams it's a little different, but on most good teams one person is using Hogs.
DX Dazed:
everyone knows that the best
way is never one way, but all ways, used at the proper moments
of opportunity. Thats what makes strategy games strategy games. They
are ever changing, and there will always be prominent ways to play, but I
cannot accept that there is only one way to play this game, I would
just throw it away if that were true.
That sounds like you just re-wrote the tag line of a promotional campaign for strategy games; the facts are how ever different. In all RTS games, and not just Halo Wars, there are specific things you must do to win against good players, and for UNSC, its using Hogs. Using Hogs early game is such a broad tactic that there is still a lot of diversity in a match where you use Hogs, but not using Hogs will result in a loss. So if you feel that using a couple Hogs each game limits your strategy so much that you can no longer play this game, then don't play.
Arbiter is 1337!
