    Blaky!  This is great.  You have single-handedly solved the problem of how the Flood could be constricted into a firebase format.  The one thing I would like to see in addition to what you wrote would be "Flood growths" growing out from Flood firebases, where the ground essentially becomes like the flood biomass in High Charity.  You could possibly upgrade it to grow faster, and then mabye to grow Flood Infection Form pods.  These pods could act soemthing like a immobile carrier form, and explode when enemies are close.

    And also, something that could be added for the infection forms is to also infect any vehicle that is manned by organic units.  It would take however many infection forms reaching and successfully infecting the vehicle as there are organic units in the vehicle.  Of course, they couldn't infect scarabs.

    Another possible addition, that is nescessary, is an anti-air unit.  Otherwise, the enemy just has to spam banshees and vampires, or hornets and vultures.

    These ideas a very good, honestly, I think Blaky, Rot and anyone who posted in the How to Implement the Flood ReMastered thread has somehow achieved the ability to make the Flood playable.

     

    Also, Rot, I have the first 5 pages of the Flood thread that was deleted saved. Do you want me to send them via pm?

    Thank u very much for all the support you people have shown, also it seems that most people doens't like the flood to train combat forms. The idea about the underground network seems pretty good, and yes actually in al games the flood comes from underground =P

    Ok, I dont think this bit was mentioned but I'll just say what I think should happen.

     

    Well, each faction has a unique way for their starting base to be placed. The Firebase is air-lifted down, and Covenant base is sort of materialised.

     Well, my idea is that the Flood base can, sort of come up from underground. Again supporting the theory, underground tunnels. Just a thought though.

    It's either that or crash landing.  I think that crashing would be better.  And also, it could have the idea of the crashed base differing depending on the types of enemies you are playing against.  If you are playing against a covenant player, the base is a crashed spirit, and the starting "scout" vehicle could be an infected ghost (or chopper if that is the brute starting vehicle and you are against the brute chieftain).  If you are against the UNSC, the base would come down in a crashed pelican and your starting scout would be an infected scout hog.  If there are multiple different leaders on the map, one is randomly selected for each base you build/start with, and that leader's dropship is the type that the base is carried in on.  The starting scout would be an infected form of the starting scout for the leader that was selected for the main base.

    This would add variety and an amount of unexpectedness and randomness to the Flood, which is needed, to make the player need to adapt.

    For making a certain type of base come down depending on units would mean they would need to change the code. If they were to implement something like that then it would be randomised with a simple code addition. Although many players would go "Wtf". For your idea, it would depend on whether the team dealing with HW will either take the easy option, or hard option. And if they take the easy option, then dont even bother thinking the Flood would be made playable. Just hope to whatever deity your worship, or in my case nothing, that the team are going to make the Flood playable.

     

    Note to any of those team members dealing with HaloWars: Look at this thread, and use the ideas, thats the whole point of it. And I hope to God you have Rot's Flood thread saved : |

    That's why I first thought of just one type of ship to come down and crash because it could get annoying for the devs to make a different ship everytime and it would increase the weight of the dlc. At first I thought about a frigate but that's FREAKING BIG so it didn't make sense. I think I rather stay with the spirit dropship. A Gravemind in early development fase would come inside the ship and it would start to grow once it crash lands.

    Well, that idea does fit the lore (Halo 2 level High Charity, a barin form is controlling the pelican that crash lands, brain form is also known as the proto-gravemind, I think...).

    Ok I'm gonna try to mix both ideas ;) I guess I can substitute the whole part of the buildings and units but keeping the leaders part.

     

    I already edited the OP, I had to erase the infected ministry leader unlocked units because it makes no sense that the player is able to build infected elites, so I added the Regenerate and berserk powers.

    Blaky, your ideas are very remarkable for being able to actually have the flood be playable and make sense at that. The concept art was amazing. It really helped in picturing the way i would work. Also to Rot, your ideas are also very well done. 

    And to those of you who say that a faction is too big for DLC, I'm sure it would take up less space that the xbox original games that you can buy off the Marketplace.


    I survived the flame wars, I survived the newb flood, and now they expect me to start all over just because they added in some stupid live crap? no, I used to go by Dark Medicant Bias but they took it all away. And now, its their turn to try to survive...

    Ensemble Studios would not make the expansion, because they are being broken up, due to financial reasons (I think).

     Well, like I said before the Flood as a playable faction ideas in this thread are great. Honestly, I thin they would be idiots if they didn't use these ideas. No offence intended.

    If ES ever decides to make the flood a dowloadable faction, I will definitely download it.
