While the MAC Blast is Stronger, the Cleansing beam is more versatile.

 

I can use it whenever I want, as long as I have the Rescources. No Recharge Time.

I would have to say that the Cleansing Beam is far better.

 

It is movable, doesnt take so *** long to recharge, once you get it maxed out you can destroy a base incredibly quickly, it mops up most units, is not easy to dodge like the MAC blast, and to top it of, you arent screwed over economy wise early on if you use the cleansing beam whilst the MAC blast is not good at all for that (Mac Rush aside)

Cleansing beam by far.  Mac is good and all but you have to use it wisely and its so easy to miss and for your opponent to see where it is going and get out of the way,  Cleansing beam can be spot spammed over individual units and used far more effectively over all aspects of the game...early, mid and late.  Plus I think it is cheaper to upgrade but I didnt do the math.

I like the versatilty of the MAC Blast. Wherever the enemy is, you can MAC them, whereas you HAVE to have Regret nearby to use the beam. Also, if the enemy is attacking you with a Scarab, then the MAC is much better. PoR dies in like 8 seconds to the Scarab, but ya can't stop the MACzorz.

MAC Blast ftw, its so satisfying seeing that huge booooooom, or seeing the enemies walking 3k supplies get killed in a matter of seconds =D.

I prefer MAC because its more instant and spread, but don't get me wrong cleansing beam is good!
