Oh man, this just ruined my day. I was so looking forward to this DLC.

800 points, 800? are you serious? Resident Evil Verusus was only 400 and even that felt like I shouldn't be paying for it, Fallout DLC packs 800 points each, Which all added completely new areas, weapons, characters, story and equipment, Left 4 Dead DLC which is free and add one new gamemode and a complete new area as well as a significant balance patch.

And then there is Halo Wars......800...points, for what? 2mb, which contains new fonts for the game mode, a small bit of code and couple of new voice samples (which where probably on the disc)

and to top it all off, you can't even play 2/3 of the DLC by your self.

I want this but 800 is so overpriced, look on the marketplace 800 points can get you a great game, my recommendation Bionic Commando rearmed (I think thats on deal at the moment also)

800 points should be reserved for substantial DLC, like the fallout packs and the Halo 3 packs......not game modes which over games offer for free (Halo 3, Battlefield BA, Left for Dead)

This is a prime example of "dropping the ball"

all u do is spam shotgun and magnum and when u are in the middle of a big combo a person snipes u and the maps are all bad except 2

and there is only 2 gametypes survior and (oh i forgot the other) and they are the almost 95%he same thing then teams so it wasnt that good

(also they took the characters and maps and weps from mercs so not that big a deal)

I love the game but this is just lazy and boring. I'm very dissapointed.

Seems like that is the general consensus. They should probably release the new maps for free to compensate for this.

u wouldnt do that for any other game cryiers im getting it today (if u can buy the game u can get the add on, espically if u got the Special edition)

None of the DLC was on the disc when it shipped.  The game modes are a small download because they are rules.  There is some new content, but it's obviously a different type of content compared to a map.  Also, the recent patch added a bunch of missing support/engine groundwork for both DLCs.

We are limited in the number of matchmaking buckets we can use due to Live.  We left a bunch of buckets available for the DLC, but perhaps we made too many team oriented buckets.  We'll evaluate changing/modifying that as we get feedback.  FWIW, since the DLC modes are generally more team-based than the default game, we skewed the new hoppers to be team-focused as well.

You REALLY need to change these game modes for non-party's too as this isn't fair for the people who don't play in parties, 

I paid 800 points for something I can't really use, If it would have stated that these could only be played in party games I certainly wouldn't have bought it and I know most others feel the same,

 Please get this sorted so non-party's can play these modes.....

I'm comparing DLC to DLC, RE5 and HW dlc where both around the same size and both added the same amount of content, yet even the RE5 DLC was a rip off so where does that leave Halo Wars?

No. :) I've had Microsoft Live account (or whatever that sign-in system is which these forums use) and read these forums every now and then. I haven't commented before because I haven't had anything important to say. Now I had because Robot/Microsoft needs to know how ridiculous their prizing is.

I agree, we got jipped, its the same maps with a little bit of different stuff. They couldn't even make new maps for the new game modes wtf?
