It's a combination of a gravity lift and them materializing out of thin air.

I was expecting something like that.

yeah i know, i just thought i'd throw that idea out there for when the game actually comes out.

 

wait, no i call dibs on it. nobody go 2v2 scarabs until i do its :D

 

EDIT: you know in a 3v3 match, when six scarabs knock on your door, your screwed.  no ammount of units could kill enough scarabs before your base is wasted. MUHAHAHAHA

from what ive been talking to robborboy about the game, the covenant do not have to build an additional building to get to another tech level, they just research it, whereas the unsc have to build additional reactors.

The UNSC needs reactors for "tech levels". Each reactor is capable of 2 "tech". And I believe the max requirement is 4 tech.

The Covenant use a Temple. The temple upgrades through "Ages". Ages take longer to upgrade though.

Ehh from the looks of the Demo Vidoc the lead designer did it looks like scarabs would get destroyed by a single MAC bombardment. I mean the one in his vid took one shot and was done...there was a hell of alot more than one shot so Im guessing that any scarabs trying to assault a base would get owned.

That is provided the player has a MAC left. They take a pretty long time to refill.

Yeah, and one shot couldnt possibly destroy six scarabs at once >:D
