    Re: Money

the grunts breathing supply could be coupled with the barracks or location where they r "created".

I like the capturing points, maybe like C&C Gen. where u have to command supply drops. or maybe the Real War idea of having cargo planese, Pelicans, come in and drop off the supplies.

I like being liable for the protection of what either gathers supplies or collects natural resources. It is a good way to slow enemies down and it makes it more challenging b/c u have to take care of ur own men.

And yea pop caps are needed, but maybe they can be done in a covert way. in C&C u could build alot of men but u were limited by the supplies. There is only so much ore to collect and at a point the ore/ tiberium reproduces at an intensely slow rate so at that point u r just dragging on the fight.

    Re: Money

4 resources- Command points, Supplies, gas, Metal

Command Points- 2 types, infantry CP's and Vehicle CP's. Infantry ones are supplied in part by an HQ and by infantry production buildings. Vehicle CP's by vehicle production buildings. CP's act as pop caps so you can only build as many units as you have CP's. Similar for Covenant. You can only fit so many units on a ship.

Supplies- Supplies would come from drop points on the map that you build(limited amount) in certain safe areas (like in your base or by an outpost) and are brought in via pelicans from the closest map edge. The pelicans could be shot down eventually destroying the enemies economy. Similar for Covenant. Supplies would be like food and weapons but would fall under the same catagory to keep it simple.

gas- Gas comes from gas collectors (limited amount)which would be stationary buildings . They can be built anywhere but are much more efficient over gas fissures of something like that. Similar for covenant. Fusion needs gas and plasma is superheated ionized gasso it works for both.

Metal- Metal is mined by miners which are similar to harvesters and tiberium from C&C. Covenant use gropus of slaves or captives like the ones you see in cages in halo 2. It's obvious why each group needs this.

     Whats needed to build units

Buildings use a combination of Metal, gas and Supplies.

Vehicles use a combination of mostly metal and supplies. Vehicle CP's

Aircraft use a combination of mostly gas and metal. Vehicle CP's

    Infantry use Supplies. Infantry CP's

A small constant supply of Gas is needed for powerplants also.

Upgrades take resources opposite to those used for unit construction. Ex: Infantry upgrades would use Gas and Metal

    What you think?

hi i dunno if its ever been mentioned cos im new to the threads but in warhammer 40k dawn of war they do resorce collecting frm strategic points that u can build defences on and build sum structures around i dunno if you ever played it but it rocks its a great game have a look at it your heaquarters sets up a area of control which u can build in and for imperial gaurd *who loook like marines* build bunkers which extend there zone of control

it works well and they also limit amount of turrets u can build so people dont go mad an put hundreds down

    Re: Money

Well if you guys watch the gameply demo it shows supply depots bring supplies down form Sof they definatly arent pop cap buildings cuase the base only had 2 compared to the number of warthogs hawks marines and wolverines in play later in the vid.so i guess you can build a set number of depots that continualy give you recources or you can only build like 2 per each command center you have or something. just my thoughts on the subject

Ps:im still frozen feel free to flame

    Re: Money

It'll probably be like impossible creatures if youve ever played it. You build electricity generators and mine coal. There'll probably be just the electricity, and mabye another recourse. If there is, it'll be like plasma for covies or coal for UNSC.

    Re: Money

I agree with dragoon.  You can probably get supplies from the spirit of fire every so often.  The guy even says in the gameplay video that the supply depot is getting suppies from the Spirit of Fire.  Probably more, I think, is that when you take over an enemy's base you get their supplies that they had and same in multiplayer, I hope.  Being able to take over a base instead of just destroying it like in other RTS games would be pretty cool and I hope they give you that option.

    Re: Money

u can take over other ppls bases in c&c its jsut really hard lol escpecially on c&c 2 where u need to get it into red before u capture

yeah but covies rule space so they can intercept supplie drops with banshees and watever else they have so unsc will need a near supply source just to make sure they have tactical reserves such as the dams for extra income, or maybe if its been a colonised world then supply depots thats been abandoned

    Re: Money

Behind every good UNSC base is a series of good Supply Pads. Providing access to the underground assembly and storage areas, these pads are crucial to the smooth operation of any base. Providing everything from medical kits to full-sized Warthog engines, the crew of a well run supply pad knows that a working pad means a working base.

oh and we can always read the feature page about this maybe the number of supply pads affects our income (we are all noobs and deserved to be shot)
