    Re: flood origins

i think the flood are linked to the precursors. due to the constant word 'transcendence' being used to describe the precursors and a stage in flood life. and as more proof, the gravemind also spoke of the mantle that didact talked about...

    Re: flood origins

in halo 3 even the panphlet says this that gravemind was created because he was an infection form that reached a certain critical mass and because of this he gained a central nervous system(something like his brain) plus i think the flood were accidentally created by the forerunners in some of their experiments and they lost control of it so that is why they made halo to stop it i get my evidence from the level "lockout" in halo 2 the pods were where the flood was held so this must mean that someone created tham and since the forerunners created halo to stop the flood it only seems natural that they created it

    Re: flood origins

What if the flood are the Pre-cursor's Protectors.

What if the Pre-cursors made the flood to protect another galaxy from a greater evil race that was the same tier of the pre-cursors. The Precursors created the flood in an attempt to destroy the enemy in another galaxy. They won, and passed the mantle for THAT galaxy along to the flood. But then the flood became to greedy and turned on the precursors. The precursors destroyed all intergalactic tech in that galaxy, and then fled to the milky way anrd raised the forerunner to combat the flood. Then they transcended, And if they transcended, where did they go? Maybe they didn't actually leave this universe, just moved along to sew a new master race in another galaxy FAR FAR away.

    Who knows

wrong. the forerunner's didn't create the flood. the flood came to the forerunner. my proof is with iris and the terminals. and the flood can't be natural, even the most extreme parasites don't consume their host till the end and just go to another. if your saying the flood is natural you must not understand.

the precursor's could protect themselves and you theory is childish.  due to the fact the word 'transcends' links the 2 together i would say the came to be around the same time. the mantle is an object to fight the flood (did you read the terminals?)

Don't call me childish when you can't even spell You're T.T

Besides, Bungie always makes surprises for us, and most of the time our theories are wrong. Don't bash anybody ideas until you know the answer. Secondly No i have not read all the terminals, i have read Several of them though, and none of the ones i read pointed that the mantel SPECIFICALLY said that the mantle was to protect the universe from the Flood.

If you can find the terminal and quote it, then ill believe you. Untill then you have to back up your facts.

The flood were created by the forerunners by accident. They were actually forerunner expieriments with eternal life. That is why the Gravemind is always talking about "giving life".

Only noobs use Halopedia, so much information is wrong, somebody like SuperNoob Darth Nihilius or anyone can edit those titles. I'd rather read the book or find the terminal which i will.

But im pretty sure that the MANTEL is just a general duty to protect all sentient races from the greater threats in the universe, and im sure there are more evil races besides the flood.

so is the mantel an actual device or as you just said a kind of resposibility that the most advanced race has.

Halopedia is still fairly reliable, but definitely never use it as your main source

    Re: flood origins

Halopedia is best used as a reference. I wouldn't go into an argument with that as my only source.
