I FJ I:I read on Joystiq, that RTS cant really be done with natal.
Tom Clancy is having a go though, but if its anything like End War, i wouldnt get my hopes too high for an Natal RTS.
Ensamble/Robot tend to make PC games, I belive HW was their first xbox title. So its not likly that they will be making a natal game considering RTS cant be done, and they dont do xbox games.
Its been said that Reach doesnt use Natal.
All Natal games seem to be aimed at the casual market, I dont think there will be any decent "hardcore" games for it. Its just a Wii with better graphics.
I disagree, an RTS would be one of the best platforms to use natal on. People simply don't have enough imagination and therefore there is less innovation being brought to existing platforms.
What has been one of the main challenges in moving the rich complexity of a good rts to a console? -no keyboard or mouse, only 6 buttons, 2 thumb sticks, d pad and 2 triggers. enough for halowars but as you all say, it just doesn't feel the same as on the pc. Well Natal can fix this with it's high quality multi-array sound and voice recognition and depth vision camera. Imagine you point your forefinger at your tv screen. The depth cam can pick out your finger tip and track it and invert that information so that your finger tip is moving a cursor on the screen. imagine the accuracy this would have; even more so than a mouse. The multi array technology would replace the need for a keyboard as you would be able to name a unit to select or unit type or issue a specific command purely through voice. You could do so much more, so much more accurately: for example: "local marines - closest 5 - fire grenades on target" > (selects all marines on screen - selects the closest 5 to target - use grenades on target) EndWar was a very different style of rts and relied on people using a headset which is not very good for that purpose and not the same as what multi array mics will offer. The depth cam can also use the outline of your head and face to turn the game camera left or right as you move your head left or right. Spread your arms out-wards or in-wards to zoom in or out - much like the 'pinching' motion on the iphone and windows 7 tablets.
