I have been wondering about this too.  In halo 2 when he is stuck with that big flood thing and the arbiter the oracle doesnt rcognize the arbiter as a reclaimer... just the master chief.

    Spartan032:

Once again if you haven't read all three books more then once then this is not for you.
Ok i have a few questions about the books that has really made me wonder?
    1) What happend the the 3 spartans that make it back to earth with MC.
    2) Where do you believe Dr.Hasley took the one spartan Female.
3)What is the Significance of earth and other plants to the Covenant.
There are other questions but please just hepl me figure this out.
I'm sorry if these questions have been asked before. So please don't be forum Nazi's about it if they've already been asked.

    1. Shown in later novels.
    2. Dr. Hasley took Kelly because Kelly could be easily sedated, she already had planned treatments whereas John would be suspicious.
    3. Earth contains the Ark which is a major Forerunner find to the Covenant, also other planets could have Forerunner artifacts on them. Like Reach did.
    There you have it.

Kelly didn't want to find out anything more, Spartans just want to get the job done and leave those things to the higher ups.

The transition of Kelly because of Dr. Hasley kidnapping her was a surprize to Kelly.

Re: Only for people who have read all three books

I do not wish to offend when I say this but alot of you in this thread do not remember/know what happened in the books properly. From alot of the messages I have read in this forum I gather that people think Kelly, Linda, James etc will make an appearence in Halo Wars. Let me be blunt. NO. None of the Spartan-II soldiers will be in Halo Wars, unless you see cut scenes when they are training or something which I see as unlikely. I think those spartans we see in Halo Wars are the Spartan-1 soldiers possibly. Eh too tired to explain this properly but alot of you guys need to re-read the books before you post things on here lol, alot of what has been said in here is just completley wrong

The SPARTAN-II program finished before first contact and the start of the war.  The Covenant glassed Harvest in April 2525.  Earlier that year, SPARTAN-IIs had been on active duty against rebels and pirates.  In September 2525, MCPO John-117 was briefed on the Covenant situation and role the SPARTAN-IIs would be playing in combat versus the Covenant.  December 2525 saw the first SPARTAN-II lost in combat; Sam-038 died whilst infiltrating a Covenant ship.

The first series of SPARTAN supersoldiers were not commissioned to combat, due to the program highlighting that the volunteers were not physically or psychologically able to provide the ability that the ORION project needed to get out of its supersoldiers.  The SPARTAN-II project was the second phase; a replanned project where children showing genetic traits of strength, reflexes, and intelligence, would be abducted and replaced with short-living flashclones, so the the children could be trained, genetically enhanced, and physically augmented to create a true supersoldier.

We won't see named SPARTAN-IIs, probably with the exception of the Master Chief, but any SPARTANs we see will definitely be SPARTAN-IIs, because they are the only SPARTANs that saw active duty at all, nevermind in the Covenant War.

Re: Only for people who have read all three books

    1) In the end of the 3rd book they are just heading back to earth. 3 spartans are left. Nothing else is said about them

    2) She probably took the female spartan to fix her up or something. I doubt shell try and do something else.

    3) Earth is the center of the Halo devices that were built by the Forerunners. Earth contains the main control thing to activate all the devices at the same time. Honostly I think Earth and the humans are no matter to the Covenant,  we were just in their way.

If you have any questions you can email me... cc3664@gmail.com ill be happy to help you out.

Also there is a 4th and 5th book coming out soon so they may answer some of your questions.

    Halo Big Picture: the books

If any of you people have read the Halo: Fall of Reach, you might understand the whole Halo picture instead of just guessing about it.

Scince the book to Halo 2 All fits

    Re: Halo Big Picture

That's true, just playing the games isn't going to give you much information since the games are after this game.
"Honor? There ain't no honor in this war. The Plasma-Rifles killed it. And if the Plasma-Rifles didn't, then the Wraiths did. If the Wraiths didn't, then the Scarabs sure as hell did."

How many Halo books are there?  Halo is my favorite game in the universe and I need to brush up on Halo History.

    Re: Halo Big Picture

3, with one more on the way

Halo: The Fall of Reach (before Halo)

    Halo: The Flood (during Halo)

Halo: First Strike (between Halo and Halo 2)

Halo: Ghosts of Onyx (between Halo 2 and 3)

I found it interesting to note than onyx can be described as "A collection of pus in the anterior chamber of the eye" - Dictionary.com, American Heritage Stedman's Medical Dictionary

    Re: Halo Big Picture

Onyx is also a jewl worn by high officials of Buddism several hundred years ago.

...and for the record the books are better than the game.  I'm reading tFoR again now for the 4 (5th?) time.  It still holds my intrerst till my eyes burn and my arms fall numb from not moving them.
