Humans win on the ground. We have superior tactics. Our equipment is better suited for ground combat and we are very adept with our weapons. I can go outside right now and shoot a rifle as good as anyone else. you could say our Ground equipment has 'evolved' over time with the changing battle situations. We have been fighting on the ground for thousands if not tens of thousands of years.

The covenant however suck at ground combat which is why they end up glassing planets

actually there is alot of things involved in firing a rifle at a target farther than like 50 meters.

    • wind
    • pulse
    • arc of shot (bullets dont travel straight, for long range shots)

those are just three basic ones i could probably find more not to mention efficiently using the rifle knowing what to do in case of jam... ect.
