 i'd like it if the covenant send their entire fleet to Earth to secure the Ark. The UNSC forces form a protective barrier around the Ark wiling to sacrifice their lives, they knw its hopeless but they have to try. Then MC and Cortana come up with a absurd plan that just mite work. MC orders teh troops to retreat, they reluctantly follow his orders and retreat into the Ark. The Covie are confused at why they're retreatin then MC grabs a shortsword which has the last remaing NOVA that was in development on Earth. He Flys out to the covenants giant fleet and releases the NOVA. He trys to outrun the explosion but cant, so he transmits a beacon to earth with his heroic speech on it, so Earth knws they owe their lives to MC. The remaining UNSC forces wipe out the covie ground forces and secure the area. onl then to they realise they've lost Their Finest.

As much as I'd like a huge nuclear explosion, its a tad cliche, considering Kurt-051. John-117 will have to find a cooler way to die. That is why I support the Ark activation theory.

He'll kill the last of the covanent, and the flood, and stop Halos' activation, and then get runover by a group of rowdy Marine driving a Warthog, then it'll fade to black, and say "Don't Drink and Drive".

On a more serious note, I think he'll end up being betreyed by humanity after he saves them, like, execution after the war, or perhaps, killed by someone because they don't think there's enough room in the shielded part of Earth (as it looks small from the outside). That, or, he is killed by Cortana, intentionally or otherwise.
