    Pingu:
Yea and also i mean its not like all halo's ideas are original. Maybe it was Influenced by the scorpion. Halo was influenced by Aliens heaps it doesnt mean they 'stole' their ideas.I saw the movie recently and i kept thinking 'wow look its in halo'. No ones going to file a lawsuit over a small picture in some obscure book cover

Wasn't Halo influenced by the book "Starship Troopers"?(NOT the movie)

    Later.

    Albion Defender:
The tank looks exactly like the Scorpion tank. How can you people say that it just sorta looks like the Scorpion tank? This Orson guy might have gotten permission to use the tank, so i'm not going to go too far into that.

    Dude, relax.

I used to have to identify tanks professionally.

There is NOT enough of a resemblance between the vehicles in question to even be bothering about it.

A Scorpion has 4 sets of tracks and an articulated hull.

The ones on the book cover bear a strong resemblence to the German Marder2 APC.

Oh yeah, the one on the right isn't shooting a laser, it's getting hit by a rocket.

The final cover of the book was changed: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9780765316110&itm=1

Now the tank on the cover just looks stupid... I'm sure Orson Scott Card got a *** load of e-mails from whinning halo fan[:'(]

Now listen up! Back in my day, we didn't have fancy tanks! We had sticks. Two stick and a rock for the entire platoon! And we had to share the rock! You should consider yourself very lucky marines!

    Re: I smell a lawsuit...

Haha, no. Halo appears to borrow more than one thing from other sources, so there is more than enough backing to say "Yes, it looks like the Scorpion, but doesn't the Pelican look like the Dropship from Aliens?

And that's just the first of many things that can be said of 'stolen' materials.

    Wes:

I have detected a blatant breach of Copyright!

For those of you who have read the books Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, Xenocide, and the rest of the Ender series, you will be deeply saddened by the following news.

ORSON SCOTT CARD IS A THIEF!

He has stolen the Scorpion Tank and used it on the cover of his new book, Empire.

    http://www.hatrack.com/osc/books/empire/empire.shtml

    I for one am appalled.

actually, if yo ulook at it, there is a large bubble on the top, which the Scorpion in Halo, does not have.

Many artist use other ideas to inspire them. Has anyone noticed that the plasma rifle looks similar to the T.E.R. from Stargate SG-1?(2 pics below)

if you want to talk about stealing from Halo, talk about Advent rising.  look at the alien dudes in that.  they look almost identical to elites.

The only thing I smell is * takes in a breath * is *coughs uncontrolably and falls on the floor still coughing until he enters uncounciousness*

It is a blurred line that lies at the edge of Godhood and Insanity. Guess which side of it I am on.

Wow... That must have been pretty nasty.  WHO DID IT?!?!?!?!?

*denies doing anything.  Kazzong shows proof that he was no where near the scene of the crime at the time.*
