Well, my first tip is to use spellcheck.
My second tip is to look for overused words. If you have the word "They" four times in five or six sentences, you might want to try re-writing it.
Third tip, and the most effective, is to leave the chapter on your computer for a week, go do some other stuff, and then come back and read it. You'll either like it or hate it, but you'll spot problems.
